Yelp, uma lufada de ar em Português!
Como Yelp continua a crescer, chegou a altura de entrar num país cuja influência foi sentida em todo o mundo: Portugal. Em tempos, o império português incluiu o Brasil, regiões da Índia, a Oceânia e a África, um império que reinou durante mais de 600 anos, tendo contribuído para que mais de 240 milhões de pessoas falem português hoje em dia. Temos muita em honra em dar as boas vindas ao 24º país que se veio juntar ao Yelp!
Ladeado pela Espanha a este, Portugal é o país mais ocidental da Europa e um dos mais antigos, com fronteiras datadas desde o século XII. Portugal é ainda a casa do não oficial "fim do mundo" de Sagres.
O saudosismo é um passatempo nacional e existe até mesmo um género de música, o Fado, que é dedicado ao sentimento de nostalgia, melancolia e perda. Por outro lado, há muito para celebrar também. Por exemplo, com 800 quilómetros de orla costeira e muito sol, em Portugal, é possivel surfar 365 dias por ano. Além disso, Lisboa tem a ponte mais longa da Europa. Os portugueses têm a fama de comer mais marisco do que qualquer outro povo do mundo, e têm uma rede de multibanco tão sofisticada, onde é possível pagar os impostos.
Talvez pagar impostos não seja um motivo para comemorar, mas aqui está um grande motivo: a partir de hoje, 10 milhões de habitantes de Portugal podem usar Yelp para procurar a sua churrasqueira favorita, um bom bacalhau, ou um local para saborear vinho verde ou vinho do Porto.
Os esforços de construção da comunidade do Yelp vão começar em Lisboa, mas a partir de agora os utilizadores em todo o país serão capazes de ler e escrever críticas acerca de grandes negócios locais.

As Yelp continues to grow, it’s only fitting that we enter a country whose influence has been felt across the globe: Portugal. At one time, its empire included Brazil, parts of India, Oceania and Africa, an empire that reigned for over 600 years and has led to over 240 million people speaking Portuguese today. It’s our honor to say bem-vindo to the 24th country to join Yelp!
Flanked by Spain to the east, Portugal is the westernmost country in Europe and one of the oldest, with borders dating back to the 12th century. Portugal is even home to the unofficial ‘end of the world’ in Sagres.
Fatalism is a national pastime and there is even a genre of music, Fado, devoted to feelings of longing, melancholia and loss. On the other hand, there’s plenty to celebrate too. For instance, with 497 miles (800 km) of coastline and endless sun, you can surf 365 days a year in Portugal. What’s more, it is home to Europe’s longest bridge, the Portuguese are rumored to eat more shellfish per capita than any other country in the world and they have an ATM network so sophisticated you can pay your income taxes from one!
Ok, so maybe paying your taxes isn’t cause to celebrate, but here’s a big one: starting today, Portugal's 10 million inhabitants can use Yelp to search for their favorite churrasqueira, bacalhau, or a happening spot to sip some vinho verde or Port.
Yelp’s community building efforts will start in Lisbon, but users across the country will be able to read and write reviews of great local businesses starting now.
