Today, Yelp is launching a voter registration portal and campaign around voter registration and turnout in partnership with Rock the Vote and When We All Vote, two organizations committed to increasing participation in every election and closing the race and age voting gap. Yelp is driving its millions of users that come to the platform every day to the voter portal, now live at WhenWeAllVote.com/Yelp, via the Yelp homescreen.
Powered by Rock the Vote, the site will prompt users to request and complete their voter registration application so that they are eligible to vote in the November 3rd U.S. election. The portal will also include a link to register online for eligible states, and is a fundamental aspect of Yelp’s commitment to being a brand that stands behind, and encourages, civic participation.
Rock the Vote will provide email and text election reminders, along with voter education and mobilization tools to those who register to vote.
A Commitment to Civic Engagement
At Yelp, we believe every voice and vote matters in our democracy. In 2019, we joined Rock the Vote’s Brands for Democracy – a program focused on building a culture of civic engagement in the corporate sphere – and made a public commitment to registering, educating and mobilizing young people to get out the vote.
Through partnerships with non-profit organizations like 15 Percent Pledge, My Black Receipt, Open to All and Momento Latino, Yelp has been a platform for civic participation throughout the years. As this election is a pivotal moment for our country, working with Rock the Vote and When We All Vote is a natural fit for Yelp and an extension of that work.

Encouraging Voter Registration and Voter Turnout
As part of our partnership with Rock the Vote, Yelp will be encouraging voter registration and voter turnout through a variety of channels.
Throughout National Voter Registration Week (9/22-9/29), Yelp users will be greeted with a call-to-action for voter registration within the home screen of Yelp app, and this will link to our registration portal. In October, the homescreen call-to-action will be updated to link out to Rock the Vote’s resources for polling location lookup and interactive polling place lookup tool. Additionally, Yelp will be encouraging voter turnout and sharing crucial information about deadlines with the Yelp Elite Squad and with our broader Yelp community of users via our “Local Yelp” emails, as well as during our ongoing virtual events.
Yelp will also promote voter registration and important voting information on our more than 350 social media accounts in local communities across the U.S., as well as Yelp’s main brand channels.
Lastly, Yelp is dedicated to ensuring our employees have the support they need to be active in the civic process. We have created and shared an internal Voting Resource Guide to make it easy for employees to find information about voter registration and voting in their state, and are committed to giving paid time off to those who are unable to vote by mail or have reservations about mailing in their ballot. We are encouraging Yelp employees to take all the time they need on or before November 3rd to drop off their absentee ballot at a designated drop-off, or to vote in person.
Join us in celebrating our democracy through civic engagement. Let us know that you registered to vote on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram @Yelp and @rockthevote!
