Yelp Supports Latinx Businesses

Over the past 10 years, Latinx people have launched more small businesses than any other demographic, and now contribute nearly $500 billion to the economy in annual sales. These same entrepreneurs, along with their communities, have been disproportionately affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Unfortunately, only 12 percent of Black and Hispanic/Latinx business owners polled to have received the funding they requested, which has led to making difficult decisions in unprecedented times.

Yelp is committed to helping local businesses and their communities. As part of this year’s Latinx Heritage Month campaign, we’re excited to announce that for the second year in a row, we are offering Latinx-owned and operated businesses a free special window decal that they’ll be able to proudly display on their storefronts. You can request this decal by filling out this form by Friday, October 16.

In addition, Community Managers across 83 markets will be creating collections, highlighting Latinx-owned businesses in their communities. By connecting with your local Community Manager, you can also receive assistance with questions, setting up events, or best practices to help promote your business to the Yelp community.

Yelp Apoya a Negocios Hispanos/Latinx

En los últimos 10 años, la comunidad Hispana/Latinx ha emprendido más negocios locales que cualquier otro grupo demográfico. Por lo cual ahora contribuyen casi $500 billones en ventas a la economía anual. Tanto los dueños de negocios como las comunidades latinas, han sido afectadas desproporcionadamente por la pandemia del coronavirus. De acuerdo a las encuestas, sólo el 12 por ciento de los empresarios Afro-Americanos e Hispanos/Latinx han recibido la ayuda solicitada, por lo cual los ha llevado a tomar decisiones difíciles en tiempos sin precedentes. 

Yelp está comprometido a la ayuda de negocios locales y sus comunidades. Por lo cual por segundo año consecutivo, estamos emocionados de anunciar que Yelp ofrecerá una calcomanía gratuita que los empresarios Hispanos/Latinx podrán exhibir en la entrada de su negocio para ayudarlos a distinguir su establecimiento. Esta calcomanía es parte de nuestra campaña para el Mes de la Herencia Hispana/Latinx y podrán ser pedidas al llenar este formulario antes del Viernes 16 de Octubre.

Así mismo, nuestros Gerentes de Comunidades en 83 mercados crearán colecciones en Yelp, que incluirán listas de negocios Hispanos/Latinx en sus comunidades. Estas colecciones ayudarán a promover e impulsar negocios Hispanos/Latinx en sus respectivos mercados. Al contactar a su Gerente de Comunidad, podrá recibir asistencia con preguntas, creación de eventos, y/o mejores prácticas para promover su negocio en la comunidad de Yelp.
