In the latest session of Yelp’s board member fireside chats, Yelp’s CEO, Jeremy Stoppelman, sat down with longtime board member, Diane Irvine. Diane has served on our board of directors since November 2011 and was appointed chairperson in 2015. She served as an executive of Blue Nile, the largest online diamond retailer in the world, most recently as Chief Executive Officer. Between her tips to keep spirits up during a pandemic, to what excites her about Yelp’s future, Diane was a breath of fresh air for many.
In this chat, she dived into her career path, the reasons behind some of her biggest decisions, and equally important, her upbringing. From a humble beginning managing eggs in a farm for $1/hr, to the CEO and investor, Diane showcased grace, humility and a strong work ethic all throughout her stories.
