The Culture team’s LA Roadshow brings employee events to SoCal

After kicking off our Employee Event programming in New York in December, the Culture team set its sights on Los Angeles next, hosting three employee gatherings back-to-back. Yelpers across the organization had the chance to meet other colleagues, catch up in person, and experience three incredible local businesses: Short Stories Hotel, Beignet Box, and Seabirds Kitchen.

During Yelp’s Vintage Vibes party at Short Stories Hotel, the signature cocktails, passed appetizers, and larger-than-life charcuterie boards took center stage. Old friends and new took turns in the slow-mo video booth, and many memorable moments were captured.

On Wednesday, we gathered at Beignet Box—one of our favorite Latinx-owned businesses—for beignets and signature coffee drinks. Owner Christina Milian surprised us by showing up, taking photos, and sharing her story on how she created this beloved local business. 

We ended the week with a vegan lunch buffet at Seabirds Kitchen, featuring jackfruit and kimchi tacos, taquitos, mac ‘n’ cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches, and masterful mocktails. Our favorite part of the afternoon was when a team from Yelp Restaurants decided to have lunch together, meeting each other in person for the first time!

Yelpers were treated to a truly special week and, most importantly, had the chance to spend time with their colleagues in person. We look forward to continuing to gather at these Employee Events all across the globe!
