Meet Nicholle, a Midmarket Account Executive on our Midmarket Sales team! Working in Midmarket Sales, Nicholle and her team consult with senior executives of 5-30 multi-location businesses to understand their marketing objectives, timelines, and revenue goals.
How did you know you wanted to pursue a job in sales?
I didn’t know I wanted to work in sales! However, I’ve always loved meeting new people and building relationships. I took a chance moving into sales from teaching, and it’s been a great fit.
What is your advice to someone interested in sales?
My biggest piece of advice is always to be yourself and be sincere with your clients. Don’t forget – they’re people too!
Why did you want to work at Yelp?
I’ve been a Yelp user since the early days, and I trust the platform. It’s easier to sell something you use and see the value in.
What does a typical day look like in your role?
A typical day for me involves lots of outreach to prospective clients to make sure I maintain a healthy pipeline. The outreach I do then leads to several new client meetings each week. In between calls and outreach, I have dedicated time to research and build tailored proposals for each meeting.
What is your #1 tip for staying productive while working from home?
My number one tip for staying productive is to carve out a space specifically designated for work. Whether it’s an in-home office, or a corner in your apartment, your workspace should be separate from your living space.
How do you stay motivated to hit your goals when you’re having a tough day?
Sometimes taking a moment to step away for a bit is the best thing I can do to stay motivated on tough days. Walking the dog, getting fresh air, or exercising allows me to come back with a positive attitude.
