Meet Elaine R, a Senior Elite Account Executive here at Yelp. Elaine works on the Local Sales team where she helps local businesses achieve their goals through the power of Yelp Advertising. Elaine is celebrating her third Yelpiversary!
What does a typical day look like as a Senior Elite Account Executive?
For me, a typical day consists of calling great local businesses in my territory and getting to know them, their industry, and their goals. I then demonstrate to them how our advertising program can be profit-generating for their business by driving them new customers who are specifically looking to spend money with a business like theirs in their area. Together, we then build an ad targeted specifically to their goals.
Why did you want to work at Yelp?
I always thought Yelp was a great opportunity to help people. I grew up around small businesses and the amazing, hard-working people who are behind those operations. Yelp really gave me an opportunity to give back to those individuals.
How did you know you wanted to pursue a career in sales?
I have always generated my energy from communicating with others, so I think sales really aligns well with my personality.
How do you stay motivated to hit your goals?
I am constantly writing down my goals for the week and month. I approach my goals at a very micro-level and look at them on a week-to-week basis.
What is your advice to someone who is interested in sales?
My advice is to be fearless and always be yourself.
