Originally from Massachusetts, Ashleigh moved to attend school at Arizona State University and has been enjoying the sunny weather ever since. She’s known on her team for having a strong work ethic and maintaining good humor that keeps the workday light and entertaining.

What drew you to a job at Yelp initially?
It’s Yelp! Who wouldn’t want to work for such an established company this day and age? I loved the thought of being part of something so large. My previous job was also in sales so I had some experience in the field. The only difference was transitioning into a more well-known brand, which was exciting for me.
What is your morning routine?
My morning routine always starts with a coffee from the kitchen. After that I take a look at my calendar for the day and make sure I have a solid plan. If I don’t have too much scheduled on the books, I’ll focus my day around reaching more business owners and educating them about Yelp. If my day is heavy with appointments, I’ll make sure to have everything prepared for each call. Even if I consider myself an expert on the business, I love rounding up with my manager to game plan. It’s always good to have a second opinion.
What is a typical day in the office like for you?
A typical day in the office involves many different things, which always keeps me on my toes. I always meet with my team in the morning and we reflect on our numbers for the month and what we need to accomplish that day as a team. Then I’m able to create my own personal goal for the day that will help me and my team succeed. I always end my days with vetting a few leads for the following day, that way when I get into the office in the morning, I can get a fast start.
How does this job fit your skill set and what are you most excited about as you continue to grow in your role and at Yelp?
I am a people person. I love having conversations with business owners and learning new things which is what I am constantly doing every day in this job. Even when I think I’ve mastered something, there is always something more to learn. Though I’m not sure exactly which path I would like to take inside of Yelp, I know that when I figure that out, there will be nothing but open doors.
Where do you find a sense of community at Yelp?
I love the feeling of community I get with my team. We all work together to accomplish our goals and lean on each other when we need support. You never feel alone at this job!

What are you up to when you’re not at work?
When I’m not at work I am usually with my dog, Kevin. We’ll go to the park or hike Camelback Mountain when it’s not too hot out. In the winter time I love going up to Flagstaff to snowboard. I’m pretty active, so I love anything sports related.

What makes living in the Scottsdale so great?
I get to enjoy the beautiful weather by the pool February through October! I’m from Massachusetts so it’s nice to be able to enjoy being outside throughout most of the year. I also love how centrally located Scottsdale is; it’s not a far drive from the mountains or the beach, and the sunsets are by far the best I’ve ever seen.
