For National Working Parents Day, we hosted a panel of Yelp parents and leaders who discussed their experiences for the past two years.
From engineering, to finance, to our community teams, parents have been faced with unique challenges during this time. They shared tips on things like preparing for school closures and managing their capacity, while communicating their needs to their managers. Equally important, they discussed carving out time for alone time and self-care (even if done during a car wash).
Parents, like everyone else, have a need to feel supported and seen. It’s conversations like these that showcase the vulnerability and sacrifice all parents, including those in leadership positions, have to practice every day.
