On Tuesday, OKC Elites received the full VIP treatment at Flint, inside the historic Colcord Hotel in Downtown Oklahoma City at Yelp's White Hot Summer. Clad in bright whites, Elites played Elite Squad Bingo, where they had to meet fellow Yelpers who fit the descriptions on the bingo cards. We now know who among us has been to Asia, who loves to karaoke, and which one of us has three or more pets in the family! Just a fun way for everyone to get to know each other a little better. Two lucky Elites won prizes for their bingo supremacy!
After bingo was over, Elites settled into cozy tables of four for a chance to get to visit with fellow Yelpers, and the first course was served: A light and fluffy hush puppy with a sweet and spicy sacuce and and a flavorful bacon-lover's tater tot with a signature sauce. This course was expertly paired with the Filnt house Moscow Mule, made with Stella Artois.
For the second course, Yelpers were treated to Flint's meatloaf, served atop cheddar whipped potatoes with sauteèd spinach and a light gravy. This course paired perfectly with a signature cocktail – an orange martini with a hint of serrano pepper.
The third course was roasted chicken and root vegetables with demi glaze, paired with a Chardonnay. Chef Elizabeth also provided special vegetarian items for guests who requested meatless dishes, including a spinach and pear salad, as well as a risotto dish with butternut squash, grape tomatoes and Boursin.
The final course was incredibly impressive, even by Elite standards! Flint's pastry chef prepared a separate plate for each of the forty guests present, or 200 individual pastries! Each plate contained five individual desserts; small versions of Flint's storied desserts, including carrot cake, chocolate decadence, a mini pecan pie, panna cotta and even a miniature perfect serving of apple pie. This course was paired with Flint's red champagne with a hibiscus flower.
Flint's wonderful team of chefs, managers, servers and bartenders all did an amazing job to insure we had the best time possible, overseeing every detail from the misters on the patio to the smallest bit of garnish on hundreds of individual plates. Elites were all in agreement that Chef Elizabeth needs her own show on Food Network to showcase her delicious take on comfort cuisine and her fun, friendly personality.
