With summer right around the corner, DC Elites took a minute to refresh and relax for a sultry Sunday afternoon of sips, sweets, and steel pan drums at the Historic Sixth and I Synagogue. The temperatures were rising and Yelpers were looking white haute!
A smorgasboard of sweet confections was set out for all guests in attendance that included blissful bites from District Doughnuts, liquid nitrogen infused ice cream straight from an episode of "Bill Nye the Science Guy" from Nicecream Factory, chocolate covered everything from Sweet Signatures, and sinful Southern-style cupcakes from Red Velvet Cupcakery. "I'm probably still coming off a sugar high!" confesses Theresa W.
"Refreshments, courtesy of Crabbies Ginger Beer and Tito's Vodka were
the perfect elixir for a hot, almost summer evening combined with
rhythms from Victor Provost, the steel pan master himself," coos Libby F. Guests had the chance to win seven giveaways that night and Yelpers who were lucky enough to find a special red cream filled doughnut won an exclusive Elite tee-shirt from District Doughnuts.
After the party, event partner the DC Jazz Festival invited all guests to see the Arturo O'Farrill and Afro-Jazz Latin Orchestra in the upstairs main concert hall at a discounted ticket price. "I never thought I'd get home after 11:00 pm, but hey, Yelp
showed me a great time last night —ALL NIGHT! So it was well worth
that sacrifice of my Sunday night zzzz," confesses Nikkia G.
A big thank you goes out to David Dang Designs for capturing all of the smiles on camera! Check all the photos out here. If you want to catch more of the party buzz, hop over to the event listing to read all about the excitement from your fellow yelpers.
