Yelp Cincy's Shakespeare with a Twist elite event at The Cincinnati Shakespeare Company was a super special event. There were yummy eats, themed drinks, hilarious Shakespearian activities, and enough fun to have every Yelper asking "Please sir, I want some more!"
As a surprise gift, Yelpers who checked-in to Yelp's Shakespeare with a Twist elite event got a free Oliver Twist novel to take home!

Over 60 elites came out to this very special regional premier event. The night started off with some hilariously themed drinks. Yelpers could choose from Christian Moerlein's ShakesBEERE: Much A Brew About Nothing, or a Yelptini with a Twist.
"Free Donuts: check. Popcorn: check. Awesome beer: check. Kick-ass performance by Cincinnati's best acting company: check!" Ben D asks, "What more could you want!?!
Missy L pleads: "Holtman's Donuts…you should be illegal…but I'm really glad you're not." The 'Oliver Twists' we had were not only punny, "but they were still warm from the oven with a crispy outside and a soft and fluffy inside. I may have had two…" We can't wait to check out your new store in OTR when it opens on September 14th!
The elites also helped themselves to some yummy popcorn provided by Patty's Old Fashioned Popcorn. The Yelpcorn Bar had tons of goodies ranging from savvory to sweet and it was the perfect theatre snack! We even had some Oliver Twist'lers that made an appearance.
Before Yelpers made their way into the theatre Artistic Director Brian Isaac Phillips said a few words about the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company history and their 20 years of unforgettable performances and humbly introduced us to the regional premier of Oliver Twist.
Now I don't have any pictures because this was super top secret stuff, but let's see what the Yelpers had to say:
"The performance was flawless. The theatre is intimate which helps really highlight the subtle intricracies of each performance. The first Act was light with a lot of wit to it. Act two was much darker, but ultimately the story was triumphant. My friend and I discussed plot points and the overlying message the whole way home." – Missy L
"The performance of Oliver Twist was excellent! I was blown away by the singing and acting of the company. Though I have never read Oliver Twist and only have a slight understanding of the play's story, I found the performance very entertaining!' – Ed P
Art thou prepared for a jolly good show? If so, then Oliver Twist is for you. The cast and crew were spot on. The acting was excellent and the set was cleverly done." – Steve A
"People have raved about Cincy Shakespeare Company so I was thrilled to be among the first to see their production of Oliver Twist. I remembered little of the story, which I think we all read in school or watched at some point in our former lives, but this cast seriously brought the Dickens story to life!" – Elaine W
But don’t just take our word on the night’s awesomeness, you can read all the reviews right here. You can also check out the other cool pics by photographer extraordinaire Laura Ghory of Laura Elaine Photogrpahy on the Official Yelp Facebook Page. A huge thanks to Holtman's Donuts for allowing us to sample some deliciousness from your awesome local businesses!
