What do you do when it's 106 degrees? You sweat of course… and have an elite event! The good news is that we had an inside/outside space at the inimitable Stephen F Austin. What a fabulous venue and shortly being made MORE fabulous by some serious renovations. We were able to sneak into the historic bar and grill before the tear down for the most chic of Terrace Tete a Tetes with music, fun, food and drinks galore! Amy D comments: "The party oozed with atmosphere from tip top staff, music by Danielle Reich and one of the best terraces to people watch in Austin."
Elites were treated to a smorgasbord of delicious drinks. "Refreshing. Great variety. Sangria punch. Yum. Icy beer. Shivers. Totally deserving of an Anchorman style soliloquy…booze, booze, booze, boozy, booze, booze" enthuses Keyla R. Between the Vermouth Punch, Brandied Sangria, Genever Mint Punch, The Pepperita made by "mexologist" Rob Cantu and Treaty Oak, the 512 Wit & a Brut Rose, there was no shortage of delightful concoctions.
And the food… oh the food. Compressed Watermelon with Balsamic and Kaffir Lime Oil, Hamachi Crudo, Crispy Quail Legs, an incredible spread of Antonelli's local cheeses. Felecia I "feasted on deep fried quail legs, watermelon cubes and raw hamachi. When we thought things couldn't get any better, there was the Antonelli's cheese smorgasboard: delicious stinky cheese, fruits, breads, crackers, nuts, tapenade, olive oil and honey. And for afters, they brought out fresh buttered popcorn with parmesan cheese sprinkles. Yes. Just, yes."
In between noshing and networking and boozing, elites enjoyed the handrolled goodness of Bolivar Smoke Shop's Honduran Cigars and the jazzy crooning of the Danielle Reich Four Piece. There's nothing like puffing on an excellent cigar while tunes drift out the door as you watch a beautiful sun set over Austin. Ann N sums it up: "Between the tasty food and the abundant drinks and the delicious cigars and the fab people, the Stephen F. event turned out to be 5 stars all the way."
