Yelp’s Snowy Sleepover in Portland, ME

For our February Elite Event we harkened back to the days of our youth and recreated an old-fashioned slumber party at Yelp’s Snowy Sleepover at the Holiday Inn By The Bay in Portland, ME.

Elites, who came dressed in PJ’s ranging from flannel robes to seriously spectacular onesies, started their evening with a scavenger hunt through the hotel that ended in the Presidential Suite for a bottomless boozy hot cocoa bar. Living like rock stars (minus the hotel room thrashing… although there was some sneaky, sneaky bed jumping!), they enjoyed a variety of flavored cocoas, mix-in’s, and more before traveling to the Vermont Room for a pillow and blanket fort building competition.

A sleepover wouldn’t be complete without glorious amounts of food, so we were treated to an endless amounts of popcorn with seven varieties of toppings, chips with ranch and onion dip, enormous tempura fried shrimp, mini baked brie en croute, and delicious homemade pizza before ending the night with gooey chocolate chip cookies and milk shooters. All the while guests lounged on inflatable red couches while watching the Princess Bride. As Chrissy H put it, “Sounds like every kid’s dream sleepover, right? Well, it’s this thirty-something’s dream Yelp event.”

Finally, let’s not forget the stuffed animals! Only instead of cuddling with them, the folks of Yelp Maine brought donations for The Lafayette Family Foundation who will disperse them to children with cancer.
