Yelp Cincy's Sock Hop Elite Event at The Ensemble Theatre was certainly a red carpet affair! There was food, fun, booze, and we even got a back stage tour of this historic Over-the-Rhine theatre. What more could you ask for?

Over fifty Yelp elites came out to celebrate this very special Regional Premier Event. The night started out with plenty of 50's themed music while Yelpers showed off their too cool for school outfits.

Jackie S proclaims, "We had a great time at this event! I especially liked the 'guess your fifties star' game as an ice breaker. Now, my only problem is that I remember people's 50's names, but not
their real ones! My apologies guys!" That's okay Jackie, you can never had to many Evlis' at a party.
Ms. Debbie herself, from Gramma Debbie's Kitchen was there with her killer Mac n' Cheese and Danae B could not get enough:
"I need to stop in down at Findlay Market and pick up some more of that yummy Mac n' cheese" pronto! That ooey-gooey goodness was definetly drool worthy.

Yelpers also enjoyed real Soda Floats and John B "couldn't help but cave into the temptation!"
Yelpers even got an exclusive back stage tour of this historic theatre and Lia V tells us: "The tour was both interesting and informative – the building has a lot of
history which is one thing I love about that part of town – everything
has a story."
Becky S' favorite part? The cupcakes from Sweet Release Cupcakes." Local biz owner Alycia Brock had all the soda shop favorites including: Root Beer Float, Strawberry Malt, and even Orange Creamsicle! "They were a 'big hit' and totally fit the sock hop
theme!"
Don't forget to check out their awesome Yelp Deal where you can get $10 off your purchase – $20 for $30 woo-hoo!
The Ensemble staff was nice enough to award two free tickets to the best dressed King and Queen of our sock hop! The competiton was so close, we just had to award a princess prize too!
Yelpers made their way into the theatre where Artistic Director Lynn Meyers said
a few words about the Ensemble and introduced us to the regional
preimer of "The Marvelous Wonderettes!" Now I don't have any pictures
because this was
super top secret stuff, but let's see what the Yelpers had to say:
"The show was absolutely fantastic!! The four ladies who portrayed the
characters of Cindy Lou, Missy, Betty Jean and Suzy, did such an
outstanding job! I laughed a lot and found myself still smiling even
after the show was over! Thank you to the staff of The Ensemble Theatre and Cincy Cindy for putting on an excellent event!" – Dawn P
"The show was great and had everyone laughing. The talent is top notch, great doo-wop harmony and acting." – John B
"The four actresses were great singers and played
their parts really well. I was laughing during the entire show! A big
thumbs up!" – Coleen P
I think we can all agree that Steve A said it best, "This sock hop event sure blew my top!
It was a gas to say
the least. It left me wanting to jitterbug and jive all night long. The
mac n cheese, cupcakes, floats and adult beverages left me all shook up. The show was excellent and filled with talent. Who knew you could have so much fun outside of a soda shop?"
But don’t just take our word on the night’s awesomeness, you can read all the reviews right here. You can also check out the other cool pics by photographer extraordinaire John Borntrager on the Official Yelp Flickr Page.
A huge thanks to Gramma Debbie's Kitchen and Sweet Release Cupcakes for allowing us to sample some deliciousness from your awesome local businesses!
