Yelp’s Second Annual Black & Gold Dinner @ Toro Toro

On Monday, July 29th, 30 very special members of the Yelp Miami Elite Squad gathered at Toro Toro, an indulgent Pan-Latin Steakhouse, for an Elite celebration like no other! El Matador, the private dining room, set the stage for an intimate dinner to honor Yelpers that have been Elite for 5+ years (Gold Elite Badges) and 10+ years (Black Elite Badges).

After a champagne toast in the lounge, these lucky members of the Yelp Elite Squad found their seats in El Matador room and embarked on a fabulous 4-course meal served family style. Each course offered 3 to 4 outstanding dishes from the core menu at Toro Toro and their upcoming special menu for Miami Spice, all paired with wine. Favorites from the 2 starter courses included the peach salad, ancho chile cobia tiradito and chicharrón de camarones. The entree course featured giant dishes of chicken paella, a mouth-watering bone-in short rib, a flavorful steelhead trout dish and a table-side preparation of chuleta kan kan. Finally, the meal ended with a theatrical dessert experience. The tropical “la bomba” dessert was dropped like a sugar-filled bomb, scattering passion fruit-flavored white chocolate, mango sorbet, and sponge cake all over the celofane-covered table. Dessert also included a banana rum cake shaped like a cigar, complete with pecan crumbles resembling ashes, and a cortadito that was poured on top. The most memorable part of the night, however, was the plethora of memories shared between courses. After prompted with the question: “what has been your favorite Yelp Miami Elite moment or event so far?” a microphone was casually passed around the table for each Elite to reminisce over unforgettable times shared with their squad. After lots of laughs, cheers of agreement and even a few tears, the memory-sharing, along with this spectacular dinner, came to a close.

Between the wonderful guests, delicious food, and gorgeous setting of El Matador private dining room, this event was nothing short of phenomenal. A truly Elite Experience, Toro Toro put on the perfect night to celebrate these Black and Gold Elite Yelpers!
