Timing is always key, and it seems that ours was bang on the money for the event at Architect Hair Salon. For one day only we had glorious sunshine to see us in for an extravaganza of perfect pampering. This fine evening we celebrated a plethora of Leeds independents, being welcomed into the classy hub of Architect Hair, for a full on session of styling and Sauvingon Blanc.
Folks were invited into the folds by the wonderfully friendly staff of the salon, and before anything else treated to a glass of wine. Once sorted with some sips everyone had a chance to sample a bite of the exquisite cupcakes and brownies of The Box Bakery, who baked up a batch fresh for the Yelpers. With delectable bites of brownies, adorned with fresh strawberries, and other assorted goodies the sugar high was evident and not a mouth went wanting!
As soon as the crowd had arrived everyone had a few moments to mingle, before being shown to each beauty station for a proper pamper. First up was Amy Pulfer of Pulfer Holistic Therapies, who ironed out all the days stresses, working her magic with her magnificent massage and inexhaustable efforts. Not a Yelper left her chair without having every muscle melted away into pure relaxation.
After hearing from so many people that they wanted a massage they can 'feel' she
sought out massage training schools that specialise in various forms of
deep tissue massage. She has worked with the NO HANDS® massage company
developing a unique approach to bodywork which can be deeply releasing
on a physical and emotional level. Merely watching her work away the knots was enough to see how her style was one that won't hold back, and some serious de-stress action was on hand for all.
Following on, folks were able to pick up all the beauty tips and tricks needed from the wonderful Rachael Divers, who's knowledge and training in make up artistry left everyone glowing and sparkling. For the evening she performed perfect make overs, offering up advice on products, and ensuring everyone had a little something special about their visage for the event.
Having trained
at Izabelle Hammon with the Calgel system, and the Beauty Academy where
she specialised in MAC and Illamasqua makeup application, her suitcase of sparkles left no face untouched-up, as she performed everything from that natural look, to the more
glamorous statement style.
Once relaxed with a little TLC from Amy and beautified by Rachael, folks had a chance to try out some of the fabulous products from Helen of Temple Spa, who brought along a bounty of skin care products for everyone to sample. With so many different options available, Helen talked through the various kinds of things that people's skin needs, demonstrating how Temple Spa's lines offer up instant results,
gorgeous textures and amazing long-term benefits. Softened up by the skin care samples, and smelling divine, folks were then ready for Architect Hair to work their magic on their tresses!
With the wine flowing and brownie bites in abundance, the ladies at Architect held personal consultations with everyone. Each person had a chance to get advice on products, such as which treatments to buy for different hair types, styling tips on how to perform swift and stylish up-dos, and colour and cut consultations tailored to each person. With everyone having such a personalised session, not Yelper went without an armful of knowledge and facefull of tips!
And so, once beautified, massaged, styled, and fully sampled, it was time to drink up a last tasty tipple before sauntering off into the night. There's nowt quite like a lovely evening of pampering, and here in Leeds we're lucky to have such fabulous independents to call upon for all of the above. Not a Yelper left untouched and untreated, and all delighted in the quality businesses we have at hand for a right ruddy indlugence! An incredible thanks goes out to Architect Hair, our hostesses with the mostest gorgeous tresses, The Box Bakery for their delectable bites, Amy Pulfer for her fantastic massage, Rachael Divers for her fabulous make overs, Helen of Temple Spa for her special products, and Laurie C who captured every excellent moment!
Until next time, I'll see you on Yelp folks. Beautiful!

Rachel C:
'I've been meaning to pop along to a Yelp Event for quite some time now,
and this week I finally got the chance. I'm so glad I did, as this was
probably one of the most fun nights I've had to date this year.
The
venue for our evening of pampering and mingling was Architect Hair in
Headingley. I was so impressed with the overall ambience of the place,
and the staff there are just lovely.
I sat down with Claire who
gave me an in-depth consultation on what I should do next with this
barnet of mine. I've long said that I really appreciate it when a
hairdresser doesn't make me feel like a naughty schoolgirl for not
having perfect tresses, and Claire was really understanding about the
fact I just don't have the hours and money needed to achieve that. She
gave me lots of practical tips and with my 20% off voucher I'll
certainly be popping in for a trim before my sister's 21st birthday.'
Tess H:
'Had a fantastic time at the Yelp Elite event at Architect Hair. Was a
wonderful venue – the hairdressers were just so warm and helpful –
stylish but not too intimidating!
I managed to get a massage from the wonderful Amy at Pulver Holistics – gosh she can get deep into those knots! Had some top tips from Helen from Temple Spa, and tried a few of those gorgeous lotions and potions – which just smell heavenly!
The
hairdressers were amazing, had advice on my fringe and hair – and
bought some gorgeous hair product, which I've been told will guarantee
my hair being all lovely and curly, not the usual frizzy mop!
The chocolate brownies were scrumptious too!'
April K:
'I love yelp for evenings like this! I
was greeted by the lovely Louise from Architect and a delicious sauvi
thrust upon me. Before I even said hello to anyone else, I had spied the
brownies and was stuffing my face with pure heaven! Clare
and I got "a do" from Emma, the funniest hairdresser that I know. We had a chat with the lady with the creams, that were just lovely and kept me moisturised through the night!
Unfortunately missed out on the make over, but everyone walking about looked very glamorous!
Then…oh my….got a massage!'
