It's hard to beat a staycation in San Francisco, especially when you have a hip and trendy boutique hotel such as Hotel Diva from Personality Hotels in Union Square to call home for a night. San Francisco yelpers made their way over to Hotel Diva for a chic night full of wondrous wine, marvelous mini cupcakes, cutesy cookies, cold brews, crunchy granola, soothing tea, and much more at the at the Yelp's Open House Elite Event.
Six of Hotel Diva's 2nd floor rooms were transformed into a yelper themed wonderland. Toting small suitcases and bags in hopes of winning an opportunity to spend a glorious evening in the chic space (thanks to a Hotel Diva organized room raffle), yelpers moved from room to room with wide eyes.
Jeff from REMRIDG Wines debuted the first pour of his robust cabernet in San Francisco. Claire from Picaqune Cellars poured a lovely white Pino that delighted yelpers such as Rachel J. Miguel from Roseblum Wine had yelpers swooning over a smoky California Zinfandel and yelpers were just as excited to learn that they can just hop on a ferry, go for a tasting at Rosenblum and be home before dinner! Anais, an outstanding sommelier who also helped start the website Farm and Cellar, which celebrates the creators of food and wine through video and social media, showcased life changing tastings of Sorelle Bronca Prosecco and spoke about the intricacies of northern Italian wine. With elegant wine glasses being toted from room to room, it was only fitting that there would also be cold cups full of sensational hoppy beer. Ryan from Sudwerk brewery brought Sudwerk's finest brews, bringing out Talia G's Davis pride, while Summer and crew from Blue Moon made Christina C swoon with their Summer Honey Wheat and mini fun-sized glasses.
Thoroughly quenched, guests made their way over to Hotel Diva's well equipped fitness center where they were able to nosh on healthy roasted San Franola granola and Strauss yogurt from David and his team. To add to the the healthy vibe was Christopher from T-We with an exquisite make your own tea station. Christopher even advised yelpers on how to pair wine and tea! T-We also happens to be part of the 5th Stitch Collective - a remarkable local designer boutique on Market Street that offers a slew of amazing DIY classes. Mike and Jen from 5th Stitch Collective decorated T-We's Hotel Diva tea table with ornate homemade terrariums and also offered a free make your own Terrarium coupon to all attendees. All stocked up on crafty fun and antioxidants, yelpers were then able to satiate their sweet tooth with darling bite sized blueberry and meyer lemon cupcakes from Brandon and the crew at Mission Minis. Everyone was blown away by the festively dressed Christa from Hey, Cookie!with her mouth-watering bed spread of colorful cookies. With "ftw" snicker doodles, and "to die for," peanut butter cookies, yelpers like Noel M gushed that her personality and sweet smelling room was " filled with what sweet dreams and big hips are made out of."
And a Yelp party just isn't the same without a photobooth to capture all of the fun. Guests danced into the glass room for Jorge Novoa's Yelp themed photo-booth for dazzling prop adorned photos. In between posing for pictures and exploring the furnished floor, yelpers were able to jam out to Sonny Phono's "What's Up," beats and even try their hand at a special Yelp corn-hole game. Yelpers also got first access to Hotel Diva's Perrier lounge and were able to take a guided tour of Hotel Diva's formidable 7th Floor. Tim G was beyond impressed by the experience, gushing that "from the outside you'd never expect that the interior is so nicely decorated and furnished with modern furniture from such companies as Design Within Reach!"
