¡Ocho De Julio! Is the new the Cinco De Mayo thanks to the brand spankin' new location of Illegal Pete's in the fun and quirky Baker neighborhood. 100 Denver Elites were invited for an exclusive evening on their expansive patio full of mustaches, tiny sombrero hats, Pinatas, Bocce Ball, burrito bites, and yes – a queso fountain!
The venue couldn't have been a better location to really capture the Summer spirit here in Denver. "Yummy Illegal Pete's burritos and chips/salsa, which I can never turn
down, Kristen N admits, while enjoing "the free Oskar Blues Dale's pours that were awesome, as well. The new Illegal Pete's
location is awesome and that has got to be one of my favorite new patios! It's huge and it's got bocce ball! Epic combination!" Touché, Kristen. Touché!
Organic Tequila company, Dulce Vida was onsite pouring some sassy samples of their variaton of tequilas. In fact, the highlight for Ruth C "was getting educated on the the Dulce Vida tequila.
It is organic and 100 proof."
"The other educational experience was talking to the Niman Ranch
representative. Natural meat, local farmers. Sounds like a company I'd
like to check out more. They supply Illegal Pete's their pork and beef,
and can be found at your local grocery stores too (Whole Foods, Vitamin
Cottage, and I think he even said King Soopers)." Plus, she "loved their green bags
they were giving away too."
And how is there a fanciful feast of spicy salsas, tortilla chips, queso, veggie and beef burritos without a cold one from local brewery, Oskar Blues to wash it down? Indeed, Oskar Blues' notorious brew, Dale's Pale Ale was flowing to complete the patio party.
Brittany H sums up in her clever words when she states: "Tequila tastings + Oskar Blues + delicious burritos + chips + queso +
salsa + bocce ball + small hats + fake mustaches + Yelpers = one
fantastic evening on the patio at Illegal Pete's on Broadway."
The best part?! Might have to have been the Fiesta get-ups. Though not necessary, customes were encouraged. In order to recognize the effort and creativity they put into their best Fiesta garb, Jason S and Jen W got to walk home with a piñata of their own stuffed with candy! Jasons S donned his best wrestler mask and struck an uncanny resemblance to Nacho Libre, while Jen W tirelessly created bedazzled, tiny sombrero headbands for her fellow elites. Now, that is teamwork! Congrats!
A big thank you to our sponsors without which we wouldn't be able to have
this Fiesta! Be sure to show some social media support and follow @illegal_petes, @oskarblues, @dulce_vida, @Niman_Ranch, and
oh yeah – @yelpdenver too!
