After the resounding success of a special preview dinner for Yelp Elite Squad members last month, the Capital Dime decided to preview a brunch service as well, and boy, was it well recieved. Between the outstanding wait service, freshly-made cocktails and multi-course samplings, it's no wonder these were two of the highest-rated Elite events in Sacramento Yelp history!
The latest preview gathering took place on a lovely morning last Saturday. The place was so new it hadn't opened yet (official opening was Saturday night), and Elites were some of the first to sit in the comfy downstairs booths across from a handsome bar, in the back banquet room or outside on their sunny and spacious patio. After that, it was sit-back-and-relax time, as the professional Cap Dime staff began to highlight the food stylings of acclaimed former Kitchen Restaurant chef Noah Zonca and bartender extraordinaire Rene Dominguez.
The three courses consisted of highlights off their evolving menu. First up was a blood peach bellini (made with house-made jam) and peach pancakes. Round two was gourmet chorizo and eggs with a Mexico 70. The Mexico 70 is tequila, lime, agave, and sparkling champagne. It is also served with a side of "danger," aka a shot of tequila! The finale was a breakfast burrito topped with country gravy and paired with a perfectly spicy Bloody Mary. Yelpers were even given Yelp-style rating sheets so they could provide their feedback on each course!
It was a first-class experience from moment one – the restaurant even asked ahead of time and served a different menu to those with special dietary restrictions! We'll leave the final summary to Nina T: "Everything was done to perfection. We even got a chance to chat with Noah Zonca. You could see the passion oozing out of him. He was incredibly proud of his establishment and rightfully so! I can't wait to take friends and family to this restaurant."
A very special thanks goes out to Giselle S, Yelp's assistant in Sacramento, for coordinating many of the event specifics. Last but not least, huge thanks to the Capital Dime staff, owners and talent behind the scenes for treating Yelp's most engaged and active contributors like royalty!
