Yelp’s Matriphony: A Reception Deception!

Man oh man, Milwaukee. I sure do love your style.

Canadian tuxedos and bridesamaid dresses with combat boots? Don't mind if we do. MKE's fake wedding themed elite event — Yelp's Matriphony: A Reception Deception — was killer fun this past Friday night at Great Lakes Distillery.

Where to begin?

Let's start with the craft punch GLD made for the event: Kinnickinnic Whiskey, lemon, ginger, sugar, bitters and local ginger ale? Yes please. What's more? Rehorst Gin, grapefruit juice, port, creme de violette, honey, lemon, rosemary. Also, tastings, to boot! Rouge absinthe, Roaring Dan's molasses infused rum, and more. Holy win!

Not to be missed were the Anaba Tea Room bites, either! They were on hand with their super fantastic Cardamom bars, wasabi shrimp salad, and inpsired steak sandwiches… all of which were more than delicious. Who knew Anaba was doing such great stuff in a basement in Shorewood? (Hint: now Yelpers do!)

Annnd… the dance off. While the photos explain most everything, winners got to choose from any of the bottls GLD offers as a prize! Needless to say, the final three really seemed to get in there and go for it. You gotta want it!

Bouquet toss! Yelpers got to vie for the (fake) red and white flowers… and our winner received Lakefront Brewery tour passes, Nessun Dorma and Highland House gift certificates, and more!

Renowned Rishi Tea provided favors for the event… their summer iced teas were not only a great touch, but in flavors such as Summer Lemon, Citron Green, Mango and Rapsberry, they sure were a hit! All that, AND disposable cameras. (Pics to come… watch out!)

So much dancing, laughing, drinking, eating, and fun! A special thanks to Matt Baran and Alex Wickstrom for taking great pictures and spinning awesome jams. So great to see our Yelp community here in Milwaukee grow… I'm looking forward to all the good things to come!
