Do A Little Dance. Yelp A Little Love. Get Down Tonight! Houston Elites turned back the clock and did the shuffle all the way over to Downtown's newest International market Phoenicia Specialty Foods and MKT Bar for Yelp's Groovy Grocery Get Down!
Holistic hippies and disco bunnies got down '70s-style as they danced to funk jams by nationally acclaimed musician/producer The ARE, as they perused the two-story venue, shopped and sampled authentic International foods – like Armenian string cheese, an array of hummus, baklavas, dolmades, and more! Anyone try those succulent sweets? There's nothing like a sugar high at a disco dance party! Keeping palates wet and alive was Houston's own Leprechaun Cider – with founder Jake Schiffer on site pouring and educating partygoers on their Golden and Dry Ciders. Yelpers also received star treatment from the Phoenicia/MKT Bar staff, as drinks were a flowin' courtesy of Janco Beverage who provided Aris Greek Lager, Les Piliers Syrah, Chateau De Nages White, along with Mid-State Wine & Liquor who provided cold Efes Pilsen.
If that wasn't enought to get yelpers in a disco-funk frenzy, Black Swan Screen Printing wowed guests with live screen printing, creating complimentary custom-made Grocery Get Down posters for all to enjoy. The talented ladies and gents at CutLoose salon gave glammed up retro 'dos for the crowds, along with free Bumble&Bumble samples and products!
There to record all the action was Mineralblu Photography who snapped wacky photobooth snapshots and Beauty In Art capturing all the paparazi pics. if you missed out on all the disco fun – or just want to check out what all the Elites are raving about – read the event reviews here! Thanks again to all of the sponsors. This was the first of its kind for Phoenicia & MKT Bar, and the Squad looks forward to more monthly Grocery Get Downs!
Peace, Love & Yelp!
