Reno Yelp Elites took a little break with some great steak this past week courtesy of the extraordinary team at the Atlantis Steakhouse. This beautiful restaurant boasts stunning modern and elegant decor, with the classic service you expect, along with the over the top hospitality that has made the Atlantis Resort a favorite for years.
Elites were welcomed warmly, literally, with a warm almond scented towel and big smiles, before being escorted into the private dining room. A Cusco Sour, a riff on the classic Pisco Sour with muddled cilantro, cucumber and orange, got the tastebuds tingling and gave Elites the chance to meet Sommelier Christian, who offered a brief history of this drink. Appetizers of Oysters Rockefeller, Kobe Crostinis, and a Caesar Salad prepared tableside by Captain John Sanchez followed, accompanied by Hahn Vineyards wines and an introduction to Steakhouse Chef Michael Shreck and Executive Chef Dennis Hogue. The main event was all about the beef, Allen Brothers USDA Prime to be specific, and Elites sampled a simply seasoned, grilled and butter basted NY Strip and a tableside rendition of Steak Diane. To cap off an an exceptional evening, an array of delectable desserts arrived, accompanied by a fiery tableside preparation of Cafe Diablo, and as with every meal at the Atlantis Steakhouse, guests left with the signature coffeecake for the next morning!
