Arrrrrr was ist nur mit meinem Kopf los?! Richtig, yohoho, da war ne Buddel voll Rum! Die Berliner Elites haben sich dieses Mal bei Maskworld getroffen, einem einmaligen Laden, der in Berlin wirklich konkurrenzlos ist. Masken, Perücken, Verkleidungen, Kunstblut, Narben, Krallen und jede Menge Inspiration gibt es hier. Bei all der Auswahl muss man sich aber schon auf ein Thema festlegen, damit nicht Darth Vader neben einem Morphsuit und der 70er Jahre Dancing Queen steht. Unser Thema des Abends waren Piraten, nicht zuletzt deswegen, weil sie Rum trinken… und zwar nicht zu knapp!
Bis alle eintrudelten, fingen die ersten schonmal um sich ein wenig umzuschauen und suchten sich Kostüme aus. Nahezu alles konnte anprobiert, aufgesetzt und im Kampf erprobt werden. Sobald das Piratenkostüm saß, wurde bis aufs Äußerste mit Degen, Schwertern und Dolchen gekämpft. So, alle vollzählig? Wunderbar! Anna stellte uns die grandiosen Mitarbeiter von Maskworld vor und führte uns durch den Laden. Sie ist natürlich auch erprobt in allen Arten von Verkleidungen und leitete uns bei der Narben- und Wundenapplikation an. Wenn man den Dreh mal raushatte, wurden Hals, Arme, Oberschenkel, Wangen, ach, jeder Körperteil vernarbt und blutig gestaltet, als gäbe es kein Morgen mehr.
Niko ging richtig in seiner Rolle als Dirrty Dagger Dick auf, aber das muss man eigentlich schon fast voraussetzen bei jemanden, der bei Maskworld arbeitet. Auch Martyna, Manuela und Christian wurden zu wahren Männern der See, Piratinnen und Haudegen, wobei Christian durchaus auch für einen blonden Wolverine durchgehen würde. Schaut euch einfach die Bilder an und urteilt selbst. Christoph hütete die Kasse, während in den hinteren Räumen wie wild Kostüme anprobiert und gewechselt wurden.
Maskworld ist übrigens nicht nur ein Kostümladen, sondern auch ein Webshop, der von seinem Lager in Schöneweide aus in die ganze Welt versendet. Aber in Schöneweide findet man nicht nur noch viel mehr Kostüme, nein, da geht es richtig kreativ zu. Dort werden Lederrüstungen und Latexmasken hergestellt, komplett von der Idee, zur Modellierung eines Prototyps bis hin zum fertigen Produkt. Hier wird alles selbst gemacht. Das macht Maskworld so schnell kein Laden nach! Während die Elites kostümiert im Laden rumsprangen, kamen noch andere Kunden rein, die sich unbedingt mit uns fotografieren lassen wollten. Wie oft hat man schon die Chance so tolle Piraten und Piratinnen zu treffen?!
Kamila wollte sich trotzdem mal wie Esmeralda fühlen, mit der schwarzen Langhaarperücke gelang ihr das auch. Heimlicher Favorit ist aber immer noch der Partnerlook mit Matthias als Kleopatra, obwohl eine Überlegung hin zur roten Stachelfrisur auch da ist. Eiske und Lauritz zog es dann schon eher zu Darth Vader und dem Stormtrooper, Matchmaking a la Maskworld. Es hat mich auch sehr gefreut ein paar der neuen Elites zu sehen, sowie diejenigen, die ich schon eine ganze Weile nicht mehr gesehen habe.
Neben Rum gab es Bier und Limo von Biozisch, mit denen wir die Cracker und das yelpigste aller Tiramisus herunterspülten. Ich möchte mich herzlich bei den absolut fantastischen Angestellten von Maskworld für einen unvergesslichen Abend bedanken: Anna, Manuela, Niko, Christina, Martyna und Christoph, ihr seid allesamt der Knaller! Ohne euch wäre der Abend gar nicht möglich gewesen und ich freu mich schon über eure weiteren Events zu erfahren. An alle Verkleidungsfreaks: Es gibt mehr Kostümfeste in Berlin, als man zu glauben gewagt hätte! Jetzt wisst ihr auch, wo ihr euch einkleiden könnt! Aarrrrrrrrrr good morning there, headache. What happened?! Right, yohohoho, there was a bottle of rum. This time the Berlin Elites met up at Maskworld, a truly unique costume shop, which doesn’t even have competitors anywhere in Berlin. Masks, wigs, fake blood, scars, claws and lots of inspiration, all packed into one shop. With a variety of costumes like Maskworld we decided to narrow it down to one topic, simply to avoid pics of Darth Vader standing next to Afroman and 70s Dancing Queen. Our theme: Pirates, aarrrrrrrrr. Why? Because Pirates and us love rum… a lot!
Until everyone had arrived people started screening around, looking for the right costume. We tried on nearly everything and tested out gear in fights. Everyone there? Great! Anna introduced us to all the fabulous employees of Maskworld and showed us around. She is the professional and showed us how to apply the fake scars and make them look as if they are fresh and blood soaken. Once we we hooked, everything from necks, legs, arms and faces was scarred.
Niko was obviously into role playing and darrrrn, he loved being Dirrty Dagger Dick and swung his whip on every occasion. But well, when working for Maskworld, you better live it! Also Martyna, Manuela and Christian turned into real men and women of the sea and piratesses, however please note the similarity between Christian and wolverine… a blond wolverine! Christoph took care of the cash desk, somebody had to be the adult here 🙂
By the way, Maskworld is not only a costume shop but in Schöneweide they have another giant store, in which they are also producing latex masks and scars. The whole process from an idea to molding the prototype and producing it is done here. Is there any other shop that does all that? I don’t think so. While the Elites tried on every costume they could get hold of, customers came into the shop just to have pictures taken with us… obviously, I mean how often do you actually see that many awesome pirates?
Kamila wanted to feel like Esmeralda, while Matthias tried on a red spiked wig? Thinking of getting a new hair do? Anyway, both of them looked adorable especially as Cleopatra and Bob Marley. Eiske and Lauritz went for the natural couple: Darth Vader and Storm Trooper, matchmaking the Maskworld-way! I was very happy to see some of the new Elites but also those that I hadn’t seen in a while. What a great night we had!
Well, as said we had rum like real pirates do and Biozisch lemonade, to wash down the crackers and the yelpiest of all Tiramisus. A big thank you goes out to the fantastic staff of Maskworld: Anna, Manuela, Niko, Christina, Martyna und Christoph, you guys are amazing! Without you this fun evening wouldn’t have been possible and I am looking forward to find out about your events. This one goes out to all of you who love dressing up as much as I do: There are plenty of costume parties, just ask at Maskworld, they know what is going on! The funny pics are the masterpiece of Käthe. Not even the most difficult light situation can intimidate her, she simply captured the evening perfectly and all the hilarious moments. Thank you!
