Northern San Diego Elites were treated to Yelp's Dinner With The Chef At Bluewater Grill on two separate warm summer nights. The gorgeous new restaurant featured an upscale, casual, "coastal" decor and an eight course menu featuring pristine quality, sustainably caught seafood prepared classically or with a modern twist. Elites were hooked from the first bite and local wines by Robert Renzoni elevated the evening with perfect pairings.
The menu for the evening featured Bluewater's Famous Clam Chowder, followed by a special surprise Watermelon Salad course. Next the Chef offered Prawn Ceviche with grilled pineapple aside crisp yams and Seared Sea Scallops with roasted jalapeno aioli, topped with bacon and cilantro. The Entrees of Catalina Harpooned Swordfish and a Seared Ahi with green papaya, mango, ponzu and daikon sprouts wowed the crowd. To cleanse the palate, a house-made mango sorbet with pistachio brittle was a brilliant seventh course, and the meal finished with Key Lime Tartlet, served alongside raspberry coulis and vanilla tuille.
