The Yelp Elite Squad of Portland, ME celebrated an early Dia de los Muertos with flair, fun, and fabulous food. Our yelpy alter to the deceased was full of ofrendas like handmade paper marigolds, sugar skulls, incense, salt, fruit, and candles. Our yelpy bellies were full of delicious authentic Californian taqueria eats like bountiful baskets of freshly made tortilla chips, a salsa bar with everything from pico de gallo and ranchero sauce to limes and jalapenos, heaping plates of tacos filled with our choice of chorizo, soyrizo, fish, chayote squash, or carnitas with rice and beans, and sweet Mexican bread accompanied by mugs of spiced Mexican coffee and rich, pudding-like Mexican hot chocolate for dessert!
A HUGE thank you to Josh and Melissa of Hella Good Tacos for accommodating us, being abundantly generous, and giving us one of THE MOST heartfelt business owner speeches to date. Read the reviews of the event here, and be sure to check out the beautiful photos on the Flickr page, too.
