There's no shortage of beer in this town, but have our
Elites sampled ‘em all? On July 23rd, the Rochester Elite Squad met at Roc Brewing to sip on
four-pour flights, devour Marty’s Meats food
truck fare, and cleanse their palates with Two Babes Brewin’
H raved about the brewery with “tall ceilings and windows that gave the
small space an open and bright feel. The beer was plentiful (her favorite was
the Golden Ale) and the bartenders were always available and eager to pour the
next pint or flight.”
Their appetites were satiated with a host of snacks,
including what seemed like an endless supply of banh mi and Cuban sandwiches,
plus fresh, citrusy ceviche, and corn salad. The Elites ran for the door to get
the first taste of the now legendary confit beef tongue tacos from Marty’s
J “was pleasantly surprised” with the tongue: “Perfection and adventure all
in one little dish.” Not “to mention those chicken wings, they have ruined all
other wings for her.” Marty’s gained a few new stalkers, err, I mean customers.
In honor of Roc Brewing’s standing trivia night on Wednesdays (7pm), we put together a Rochester-themed set of questions with the winner landing a coveted Roc Brewing pint glass and Yelp playing cards. …Can you name where the garbage plate originated?
The guests ended (and maybe started) the night with a bite
of Two Babes Brewin’ cupcakes. With a boozy flair, the cupcakes were a hit. “Oh
my, a white Russian cupcake that was almost as dangerous as real life white
Russians… what more could” James
B ask for.
Special thanks to Chris, Jon, and Patty from Roc Brewing,
Marty, Paul, and Andre from Marty’s Meats, Kasie and Lyndsey from Two Babes Brewin’
and of course, all of ROC’s fab Elites.
