What started off as a typical Monday night, turned MAD around 7:00 o'clock. 40 Yelp elites were invited to check out Smashburgers new location in Hyde Park location before anyone else for a super special 7-course Burger Madness tasting!
The night started off with a warm welcome from our new Yelptern Katie! From there Yelpers made their way into the dining area to mix and mingle with one of Cincinnati's favorite local beers, Christian Moerlein.
Jen L shares, "Smashburger sure knows how to make a Yelper feel special! From the second we walked in the door we felt totally VIP. My husband was excited when the freezer was stocked full of Christian Moerlein beer and I was excited that right when we sat down we got an assortment of fried onion straws, sweet potato fries and rosemary garlic fries with complementary dipping sauces!" WIN!
After all those incredible sides the Burger Madness began! And with one very special signature burger to start the night off right!
"I did not know it was possible to do a 7-course burger tasting. My oh my by the time I wobbled out of here, I felt like I had reached some kind of burger nirvana!" Elaine W's favorite burg? "The Buckeye with onions and deep fried banana peppers…say what?! Yeah, flavor-wise, it doesn't get much better than that!"
After the first round, burgers just started flying out of the kitchen one-by-one!
"Each burger was better than the last! My favorites were probably the Buckeye Burger, and the BBQ Chicken Hangover Burger. The burgers were juicy, but still had this awesome crisp bite to the edges. I also liked how the buns were buttered and toasted—Cincinnati sure knows how to throw one heck of an Elite Party! " - Stephanie K
Ron A declares—"God, if you're listening, this is what I want Heaven to be like: a seven course burger tasting with ample amounts of side dishes, a variety of creamy milkshakes, and unlimited bottles of quality local beer (I wonder what local beer Heaven has… definitely St. Ides I'd imagine. He is a saint, right?)
"My absolute favorite was the Truffle Mushroom Swiss – it was like heaven in my mouth. Everyone should try this one! I also liked the Spicy Veggie Blackbean Burger (who wouldn't like jalapenos with guacamole & a chipotle bun?) — spicy, but awesome, and of course… the Buckeye, which is special to this location." – Nate S
And of course no Burger Madness event would be complete without a three course closing Milkshake tasting…am I right?! Yelpers got to sample Smashburgers signature PB&J, Cookies and Cream, and Butterfinger Milkshakes. And just for fun, everyone walked away with some super cool smash swag!
