Another entry to the London Elite Hall of Fame!
Roses are red, violets are blue. London Yelpers don't give two hoots about Valentine's and neither should you! February 2012 saw the introduction of the first London Elite Anti-Valentine's Bash at The Loft.
There was nothing fluffy, cuties or sweet about the South London Anti-Valentines Bash but we still had a ball! The Loft welcomed the marching black and red Anti-V Day army through its doors, where the music was pumping as the DJ set the pace for the evening!
In true Anti-Valentine's style, there was a little naughty 'treat' for yelpers when they used their check-in offer! Mark S got a sharp surprise from a Seriously Sour Sweet!
Well… it was ANTI after all, it couldn't all be sweet sailing!
Cocktails were flowing as Yelp's sexy Bad Cupidettes offered guests a taste of four tomato risotto balls stuffed with baby mozzarella and basil, chunky strips of deep fried halloumi with a spicy roasted red pepper dip, spicy chicken wing, olives, chorizo and roasted garlic served with crusty bread and lots more numminess!
Each guest was assigned a 'new partner' by means of a Yelp card pin-up! If you were the Queen of Hearts, it was your mingling job to find the other Queen of Hearts in the room. Bea B found her counterpart in quick-time and then just had the pleasure of helping everybody else!
The lucky Anti-Valentiners could choose any beverage from the menu and it (like magic) was created before their eyes! The bar staff dazzled us with their skill, speed and finesse, whipping up gorgeous drinks infused with homegrown lemongrass liqueur. Would love to tell you more but it's a fiercely guarded family secret and so would have to kill you!
A huge thanks you to The Loft's Andrew and James and to all the fantastic Loft bar and catering staff. Thank you to our our Bad Cupidettes – Chelsea and Elinor, Omas A the evening's photography and not forgetting all the gorgeous Anti-Valentiners. You can check out the reviews, photos and see what else went on by joining in on Talk.
Looking forward to the next one already!
