Every 4 years the world comes together to celebrate the beautiful array of nations and cultures as they cheer on their beloved fútbol teams. Whether you’re a die hard fan or eager to learn more about this sport that unifies and moves us all – there is a place for you to catch a FIFA World Cup™ match over some greasy-spoon pub eats, vegan cuisine, corn hole, or even an eclectic beer from a robust tap list. Yelp recently teamed up with Money Magazine and rounded up the top 10 places in America to watch and rally…even if it’s at 6am. So, the question remains – just how big of a World Cup fan are you?
Methodology: This is a list of the best places for soccer fans in the US, according to Yelp. We identified businesses in the sports bar category with a significant number of reviews mentioning the words “soccer” and “World Cup”,” then ranked those spots using a number of factors including the total volume and ratings of reviews mentioning those keywords. Only one business per state was included to ensure geographic diversity of the list
1. 4-4-2 – Portland, Oregon

“…I like it that I can watch more than one match at a time. There is no better atmosphere than watching soccer in a crowded bar when the patrons are speaking languages from all over the world…I recommend 442 for the World Cup as the crowd is friendly and the staff keeps the sound loud for a great atmosphere.” Yelper Julie F
2. Amsterdam Tavern – St. Louis, Missouri

“If you love soccer, this is the bar for you! If you can’t make it to the game, this is that one bar if not the only bar in STL, that will get you in your game mode. If you feel like chanting and screaming “USA, USA, USA” or for “your” team or for any team for that matter this is the bar for you. It has my vote for best bar in St. Louis to watch a soccer game at, especially if you are that “die hard” soccer fan.” Yelper Michelle W
3. CommonWealth Cafe & Public House – Oakland, California

“I love, love, love this place. I come here all the time to watch soccer and drink kombucha on tap… as well as beer. The food is traditional pub stuff but they also have many vegetarian options so there is something for everyone. There are ample TVs, a solid beer list, great food, and coffee. I love to work out if here and always bring friends when they are visiting from out of town.” Yelper Chris R
4. Doyle’s Public House – Tacoma, Washington

“Doyle’s is our home away from home. Whether it’s early morning (I’m talking 3:30 am!) weekend kickoffs for our beloved Liverpool FC, Guinness pint night on the 17th of every month, or a perfect location to get engaged (she said ‘yes’ BTW) Doyle’s is so much more than a public house to us…the food is amazing (try the scones for breakfast) and the Guinness is always on tap. Whether you’re a local or a visitor to the area, make Doyle’s a “must” for your dining and drinking needs. Slaínte!” – Yelper Mike G
5. Mulligan’s – Hoboken, New Jersey

“It’s the best sports bar in Hoboken. It’s the best neighborhood bar too…It’s a heaven for soccer fans! No matter what European football team you support, you’re always welcome in here. Great atmosphere and you can hear people chanting after the soccer match.” – Yelper June C
6. Banter – Brooklyn, NY

Best soccer bar in Brooklyn! They play all the soccer games, and they’re an official partner of the Nycfc club.
I watched an Nycfc game there and it was amazing…If you’re a soccer fan, it’s the place to be.” Yelper Joseph S
7. Abbey Burger Bistro – Baltimore, Maryland

“The beer selection is also on point with over 100 bottle beers to choose from and a couple on tap. They have a great happy hour and usually open early for soccer games on the weekend for those fans!” Yelper Alaena M
8. Brauhaus Schmitz – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

“Brauhaus Schmitz is the go-to place for Germans and lovers of German food and beers…Happy hour 5-7PM weekdays with $4 beers and sausage rolls is a good deal. Also, they show live soccer on the screens for Bundesliga, Champions League and major international events like the next World Cup.” Yelper, Chris Z
9. British Bulldog – Denver, Colorado

“I love the ‘football pub’ feel of the place, lots of EPL-themed stuff on the walls and it has a chalk board with the latest EPL Table. It’s also a great place to watch the World Cup. I watched a lot of matches here in 2010, including some of the early-morning starts. Cool thing that happened for me at BB: 2010 World Cup, there were two matches going on at the same time, Spain playing someone in a very big match and also Cote D’Ivoire playing a separate match. BB showed both matches even though everyone in the bar was watching the match with Spain.” Yelper Matthew H
10. Trinity Hall Irish Pub – Dallas, Texas

“This is a great place to watch a soccer match or any sport. I love that they have a vegan menu and usually order the bacon nut cheese fries and it’s so delicious even my meat-eating friends agree. They have a great beer selection and very nice and knowledgeable servers. The food is excellent and they are open early on weekends which is a plus.” Yelper Laura J
