Yelpers Party Like Rockstars At Yelp PVD’s Backstage Pass Party!

In the words of the very wise Jaime H, "Yelp knows how to create a night filled with excitement, exuberance and extraordinary entertainment," and Monday night at the Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy was no exception! 200 yelpers rocked it all the way out at Yelp PVD's Backstage Pass Party, where cocktails were sipped, tasty bites were nibbled, and plenty of dancing to amazing tunes was done for a GREAT cause: all that yelping raised $600 for our fuzzy friends at the Providence Animal Rescue League!

Cook & Brown kicked things off with a gorgeous trio of tasty cocktails, and according to Carly B "they most certainly did not "dilute" what they do best – killer cocktails," including a fizzy French 75, traditional daiquiris and a very special negroni served on the rocks. Stone Brewing Co. drew in the crowds with Levitation Ale, one of Metal Jen's "favorites – hoppy and perfect for sippin on!" Them 'Ganssett boys brought it with their beautiful bock, "tall boys that couldn't be beat" in Stephanie M's opinion. Crispin Cider gave us something sweet to drink with not one but two ciders to choose from, and for those in need of straight-up hydration, Bai Infusions rescued with their delicious juices. Benny's saved the day with gallons and gallons of water for all those thirsty yelpers, and Bolt Coffee Co. kept the buzz going with their incredibly smooth and artfully-concocted coffee drinks.  
The feeding frenzy was on with scrumptious Kobe meatballs with a delightfully tangy Parmesan and house-made focaccia from Pane E Vino. The crab cakes served by The American blew Joe D away with their "perfect seasoning," and the "warm, velvety, creamy lobster bisque with little chunks of lobster" was "delicious." Lola's Cantina & The Whiskey Republic provided "soft and chewy" house-made pretzels with a "tangy dijon mustard sauce" that amounted to "the perfect bite" to accompany all the tasty beverages.  Kisha T usually "hates dancing in public…For some reason, you don't care who is watching when everyone is listening to the same song but dancing in their own world, and that's what happens in Silent Disco. It was AMAZING." Spogga kept it real and pushed it to eleven (it's one louder) with live-action tunes, "murdering the mashups as only he can do – Push It + Brown Eyed Girl?" Carly B was all over that madness. For those who needed some temporary tats to go with their rock'n'roll getup, Henna By Heather painted gorgeous designs on the bodies of many a yelper. The students that make Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy an actual academy set up shop… a beauty shop, that is and went to town on all those yelpers. Holly B was "a little hesitant about the hair and makeup at first," but bit that bullet and "decided to do it, and it made for even better pictures in the Shutterbooth, which was a great time as always!" The now notorious Brad Smith was poppin' pics of the party all night, capturing the madness of John L, who had "an amazing time. If you're a yelper in the Providence area and didn't get to go to this event, you missed out!" Wooing Scotsman Productions was there, too, making a soon-to-be posted movie of the mayhem that will surely go down in Yelp PVD history.

"This event was epic," sums up Jaclyn P. "Favorite. Yelp. Event. Ever… And in support of a great cause – WooHoo PARL!"
