Yelp Vancouver’s Craft Beer Garden at The Butcher & Bullock

Finally climbing out of our rainy months, one fine Wednesday in May, 150 Vancouver Elites and their guests celebrated the sunshine in that time honored tradition – the beer garden. But here in Vancouver, we don't pour just any beer into our red solo cups. No no, we prefer the brew from just over there and around the corner. Enter: The Craft Beer Garden.

With four local brews from our friends at Phillips & Driftwood Breweries to choose from, Vancouver Elites got a true taste of home. Abi B's take? "The Driftwood Farmhand Saison had a lovely spice to it and the Phillips Blue Buck was a solid amber beer with a nice balance of hoppy and malty flavour." Yum! As the taps tipped, Elites both new and old got a chance to mingle and meet at this laid back downtown haunt. "The space is really cool – old style, lots of dark woodwork, tiled ceilings and very spacious." –Jacob F

Though, it's surprising they had any time at all to chat with all the food keeping their chompers busy! With fresh pretzels, classic bacon sliders and braised pork poutine – our Elites were stuffed to the brim. "The food was phenomenal! I must have had 3 of those little pulled pork poutine's. This was the most food I've ever seen at a Yelp event, and it was great!"- Martina M

Local brew & bitchin' comfort food – what more could an Elite ask for? How about a visit from our local beer gurus? Elites got to kick up their heels and ask all those burning brew questions with a round table session with local beer gods. "It was great to chat with Ian from Driftwood Brewing and Chris from Vancouver Craft Beer Week, just proves again that Craft Beer people are good people." – Mike G

And no beer garden is complete without a little live music! The fabulous Tonye Aganaba & The Foundation had Elites up from their seats, working off that poutine on the impromptu dance floor. "The band that was playing was amazing. She sang my song, and I danced to her amazing chords." –Dru C

A huge thank you to Trevor, Demian, Damon and the fantastic staff of The Butcher and Bullock for treating us like gold. Colene C says it best: "Props to the staff that night for doing a killer job. We were really taken care of. They made sure everyone was getting drinks and being super attentive."

Also mad love to Driftwood Brewery and Phillips Brewery; Chris & Ian from VCBW; Tonye Aganaba & The Foundation; Tiffany N, my moral support for the evening and to the Yelp Elites for raising a glass and defeating hump day like champions!
