What to do when you know all these truly great, passionate and local businesses? And it's summer in Amsterdam? Well, you arrange for a an awesome location, a permit and you call all these wonderful owners and behold! There was the Yelp's Summermarket! Nothing would taste the same after Friday 20th July… People lined up from 7 PM on to enter the great location, provided by the sports accomodation Swift. This is THE korfball and tennis accomodation in Amsterdam Centre. The location is so central, specious and because of Jos, it was the recipe for success… The Amsterdam Picnic Company provided a relaxing picknickfield for everyone to lie in the sun and taste the amazing Gazpacho, salmon bites and Spritz. Together with Tostissimo's exquisite and luxurious grilled "tosti's", Yelpers lied on these adorable and colourful blankets in the grass, simply enjoying the long-expected rays of sun and watch people stroll by.

If you didn't know Pintxo yet, well you do know now… These great little goodies from Basque (North-Central part of Spain), called 'Pintxos' are the best bites during 'cocktail time' and match perfectly with the crisp Txakoli white wine that Luuk served. The sweettooth-fairies couldn't be happier than hanging out at the Amsterdam Cupcake Company! Cake pops, different types of cupcakes, dipped in sprinkles: it was divine. Accompanied by Simply Skin, I think it's safe to say that this was the 'girly corner'. Vivienne makes all of her skincare products herself, from bodybutters to footcare and from facialcare to non-allergic and products for the sensitive skintypes. How cool is that?!Decadence galore! The one and only Oysterman of Zilt&Zalig Marcus knows how to treat people, and how to treat them well: while he's opening the superfresh oysters, he speaks proudly and enthusiastically about his products. After you've gulped down your oyster, he fills your shell with a matching drink to let you experience what 'good taste' is all about. Caterina of Olivity showed us that 1) low cholesterol, 2) low on suger and 3) Gluten-free can be -hands down- tasty! If you didn't know any better, you'd have no idea that her Loukoumata, breadsticks & dippings, and spinach-feta rolls are actually this healthy! And then there was…. truffle. Truffle, truffle, truffle everywhere! Massimo made his own trufflerisotto-croquettes for Yelpers to taste and together with his truffle-infused honey & cheese-combination, Yelpers went wild! The great Grand Ginger cocktails of Grand Marnier, served in this pretty red bubble-shaped glass were the refreshing cocktail of the evening… You can imagine, after a few of these, the Yelpers became even more competative at the Fussball-table.

No Yelper Party without an amazing wine-tasting of Found! Inge pours three astonishing wines in this cute 3-glass-holder and you have to drink your wines from left to right, in order to really taste these wines and bring out the flavour. But, there's more! You can ask Found to decorate your party / event / festivity as they collect these cute vintage items! So they transformed part of the venue and made this elegant Vintage Photobooth! Olive from The Bee's Knees Kitchen showed her passion: she organizes these great baking-workshops on Saturday afternoons, which is so much fun to do with a group of friends! So she demonstrated how to make Madeleines on the spot and handed out these famous French delicacies. She paired up with Hotel Chocolat and to be frank, there is no better chocolate! Hotel Chocolat has the unique status of being a cocoa grower (they have their own plantations!) as well as a chocolatier, and that's something you can taste in their chocolate: pure, authentic and simply heavenly chocolates!
Dear Esther, Luuk, Serge, Faryel, Vivienne, Marcus, Caterina, Massimo, Paul / Hamdi / Joris / Kim / Stefan, Hotel Chocolate, Olive and Inge, I want to thank you so much for your exquisite products, your generosity, and showing us how cool & passionate you truly are! Dear Jos, Jeroen en Ed, thank you so much for the great location Swift and all of your help. We couldn't have done this without you!

Dear Yelpers and guests, it was such a pleasure welcoming you at this first Yelp's Summermarket in Amsterdam! We will see you again in December…. (yes, that's a HINT). Until then, read the reviews and glance at the magnificent photos of 'our' Yelp Amsterdam photographer Dennis Veldman. OMG, this man knows how to create the most ravishing images!
ROCK ON and SYOY (See You On Yelp)!
