Olive Oil isn’t just olive oil, business-owner Tabatha Conarko, of Con’ Olio, sat down with us to share her love of oils and vinegars in this Yelp Shops Local profile. Read on to find out why olive oil would make the perfect gift this season and more..

What makes your business the best place to get gifts this holiday season? 

We are a taste before you buy concept so customers can sample everything before making their gift selection. We provide harvest dates, producer names, chemical analysis and organoleptic profile for each of our Ultra Premium Extra Virgin olive oils and employ a dual hemisphere model source for olive oil to ensure our oils are always fresh! We also offer a thoughtfully curated selection of other gourmet goods from across the globe all produced by small batch artisans which makes each gift unique!

What is your favorite local Austin business (that isn’t your own)?

There are so many great ones! Austin has such a wonderful local food community. I love Blackbird Bakery gluten free flour blends, Confituras jams, chocolatiers- Delysia and Mia Chocolates, Lucky’s Puccias and Pizzeria for the best authentic Italian pizza and Dolce Neve for my gelato fix.

Eggnog, best drink ever, or..?

As long as I can add some brandy and cinnamon! If not I’ll stick with a fantastic bottle of Occhipinti SP68 or Bianco.

What is your favorite part about the holidays?

Spending time with my family and of course the food!!

What’s the perfect gift to bring to a holiday party?

Of course, a fresh bottle of award-winning extra virgin olive oil!

What inspired you to start your small business?

My husband I were inspired by the fresh flavors of oil and vinegars that we sampled while traveling Europe on our honeymoon and knew we wanted to bring that back to Austin!

When we stop by, what can we expect to find at your shop this holiday season?
