It was not your typical Monday in Tampa Bay, as the Yelpers were treated to an event so exclusive, it took place 90 years ago! Ciro's Speakeasy & Supper Club played host to a 1920's Prohibition style affair for the Elite members who were lucky enough to possess the password.

An establishment such as this one, goes far beyond simply the taste of the food and the strength of the drinks. Just ask Thomas A for his opinion on Ciro's, "it is extremely rare to find a place so unique and surreal, a place of such refined quality that it makes you reconsider your internal definition of amazing," he raves. "I was blown away by the whole experience." This is a genuine speakeasy, operating under the assumption that we are still living in the Prohibition era, so one can expect an experience unlike just about any spot in town.

The drinks are worth the price of admission according to Meghann A, "Ciro's is famous for their handcrafted cocktails, and I ended up with a Gin Bramble. I am not a liquor or cocktail drinker by any means, but this drink…this drink…was amazing. The muddled fresh blackberries and smooth alcohol was just heaven. Heaven. Probably the best alcoholic drink I've ever had." The words, "best I've ever had" were uttered and typed many times in regards to the high-quality spirits.

In the 1920's, you'd think that once tucked away inside a speakeasy, the patrons would eventually get pretty hungry. 90 years later, we still haven't found a cure for being hungry outside of "eating," so our modern-day juice joint hooked the Elites up with some choice cuisine. "There were three types of potstickers, as well as wagyu sliders, crostinis and truffle popcorn, which was out of this world," Michael C exclaimed. "For dessert was caramel bread pudding, which was probably the highlight, food-wise."

The drinks, the food, the theme, the comradery, what have we left out of the equation? The employees of Ciro's, of course. "The bartenders really know their stuff because these drinks have multiple ingredients that require all kinds of shaking, stirring, muddling, and straining before they are ready to be poured," Brad S asserts. "How the bartenders manage in the serious darkness, I have no idea. These are probably the most sophisticated drink slingers in Tampa right now." We are not worthy of your elixir wisdom, oh good madams and sirs!

For those local to Tampa Bay, if you're ready for a night at Ciro's, be aware that the sign-less and unassuming door in the photo above is your portal to the spirits. 1920's attire is not required, but I'll have you know, my mom thinks my suspenders are cool.
