The biggest yelper event to ever hit Philly went down on Thursday, February 9, 2012 and nearly 800 yelpers showed up to partake! Yelp's Backstage Pass Party turned Philly's newest music venue, Union Transfer, into a feast for the senses which included thirteen restaurants, nine beverage brands, nine salons and two photo booths – all surrounding a dance floor where yelpers were happy to shake their booties to the sounds of DJ QiCommand. To say it was a fun night out would be an understatement; this shindig took party rockin' to a whole new level!

Dancing works up an appetite, but there was plenty of bacon grease popcorn, deviled eggs, soup shooters, sandwiches, doughnuts, cupcakes and more to go around. Our amazing array of treats were supplied by local food sponsors Triumph Brewing Company, Cantina Dos Segundos, Khyber Pass Pub, Krispy Kreme, The Trestle Inn, World Cafe Live at the Queen, Sweet Box Cupcakes, The Couch Tomato Café/The Tomato Bistro, The Sweet Life Bakeshop, Cake & The Beanstalk, Rybread, Chabaa Thai Bistro and Kavei Xpress. These businesses brought their A-game, and it showed.

A party ain't a party without some top-notch libations, and alcohol sponsors Triumph Brewing Company, Sam Adams, Twisted Tea, Magners Irish Cider, Narragansett, Sixpoint Craft Ales, Weyerbacher and Clique Vodka were spreading the love and the sips. Those searching for a fruitier quencher turned to the Bai table for refreshing juices.

Between all the eats and drinks were complimentary salon and spa services from generous local businesses MOKO Organic Beauty Studio, Tierra Mia Organic Nail Spa, Styledelphia, André Richard Salon, Mellow Massage Therapy Center, Anjuthreads, Laurentius Salon, Skin Palette and Lakshmi Hair Studio. Yelpers were photo-ready when local photog Erika Letitia snapped candids and Skout Media shot video, and they hammed it up for the cameras in photo booths provided by ShutterBooth and Go Festive! A shout out is also in order for Bad Kids Clothing, who provided the tops worn by Yelp staff at the party.

But it wasn't all about the complimentary bites, bevvies and beauty. The Linda Creed Breast Cancer Foundation collected over $3,050 from generous yelpers at the door and at coat check to benefit this wonderful local organization. The money will help "provide important breast health education, direct services and advocacy." Many thanks to all the friendly faces from Linda Creed who were on hand to volunteer at the soiree!
This event gave an opportunity to yelpers new and old to come together and party with a truly amazing group of local businesses. As Yelp Elite Teri R said: "It was like being a part of history." Yelp history, that is! Of course, the night would not have been possible without the help of many, especially: Sean, Toni, Tom and all the staff at Union Transfer, DJ QiCommand, our incredible food, beverage, salon and photo booth sponsors, Skout Media, Image Unlimited Communications, the Linda Creed Breast Cancer Foundation, HughE from Philly Chit Chat, Miami CM Monica S, Chicago CM Johnny T, Manhattan CM Jane K, Yelp Philly Intern Allison B and last but not least, the Yelp Philadelphia Community!

This was one unforgettable event, but if you need a second opinion, just check out the reviews, Talk thread and photos here, here and here!

Until next time,
