Yelp's Passport to Ivanhoe
Village spanned over fourteen days long and introduced tons
of Yelpers to fab, local businesses. They checked everything from Burlesque, to eating and drinking
and exploring art galleries. It was two weeks full of eleven events filled to
the brim with culture and full of community!
Yelpers
definitely celebrated and infiltrated Ivanhoe Village via cool & creative
ways to connect people with great local businesses. The Elite Squad kicked it
off while getting spoiled at Halo Salon and Spa the week before.
“Ivanhoe Village is a great little neighborhood and
this salon might have the best spot in town! The view of the lake is
beautiful scenery for getting your hair done.” – Kim W.
Monday was the
launch of Passport and we got a taste of everything The Venue has to offer with
The Venue Sampler. Noshing on Tako Cheena, sipping on Tito’s Vodka and snappin’
it up with SNAP! Studio Booth! We finished it off with a fabulous production
from the staff at BabyBLUESTAR Productions!
“I had a freaking blast at the Venue, they have some
really awesome unique things going on.” – Justina N.
Tuesday we checked out Teals Twisted Bliss –
a Groovy and Hip Ice Cream Joint serving up Soft Serve Ice Cream, Italian Ice,
Gelati, floats, milk shakes, coffee, tea and hot chocolate! YUM!
Thursday
we celebrated the unveiling of the official Ivanhoe Village poster by Ken Bowser
at Twelve21 Gallery. We enjoyed snacks, popped some Kernel Encore classic and
holiday flavors and sipped on wine, beer and Tito’s Vodka libations.
"This place is so cute! Such a small cute gallery with awesome art. This night was to showcase the brand new poster for Ivanhoe Village. It was absolutely GORGEOUS! The artist was very talented with all the different art pieces he was showcasing." – Kevin Charles M.
Friday we
rocked pumpkin bombs during Happy Hour at local
watering hole, The Hideaway.
Saturday we helped celebrate Orlando Repertory Theatre’s 10th Birthday,
and the Orlando Philharmonic's 20th birthday with a free concert in
the park!
Monday we kicked off another week with an evening at The Imperial, which
is located inside Washburn Imports, yes a bar inside a furniture store that
carries amazing, hand-picked pieces from Asia!
Tuesday we
went behind the scenes of Steadfast Brand and enjoyed Ivanhoe After Hours. We
also learned about a great movement our local community is running at FL
Hospital. Dr.
Karen Tilstra, the Director of the Florida Hospital Innovation Lab let us
inside the lab and shared tons of great, inspiring info.
Friday we joined the Orlando Critical Mass crew and met at Retro City
Cycles before peddle
off!
Saturday we did a warm and fuzzie! We hit up Homegrown Local Food Co-Op for a Cash
Mob! Yes, It was a crowd of yelpers who get together and went on a collective
spending spree at one of our favorite local business.
We closed
it out with a Sunday Funday fav, a Brunch Buffet at White Wolf Café.
Huge thanks
to all of the sponsors, locations and Yelpers who came out to celebrate Ivanhoe
Village and a special thanks to Scottie Campbell, the Executive Director of
Ivanhoe Village Main Street! Much local love to all! Photography props to Jim White for sanppin' the events away and yelper, Mariacristina N for sharing her photog skills!
