Yelp Orlando hosted a posh summer gala to the tune of a fire and ice this past Thursday and it was the second open party in the City Beautiful. The gorgeous, trendy Heaven Event Center was turned into a playground of fun. Yelpers dressed in Red or White to represent their Fire or Ice persona and enjoyed all varieties of local entertainment, cuisine and refreshments.
"Yelp Orlando hosted a great event with a variety of different local businesses bring something sweet, tasty, and fun to the event. Always great to support a good local cause too!" – Josh M.
While this party was complimentary to all, we encouraged everyone to donate to a fabulous cause. United Arts of Central Florida and The Red Chair Project were on deck to ask everyone “Why The Arts Matter” to them. Orlando LIVE was in attendance with their brilliant host, Peter Murphy (#KeepOrlandoAwesome) and captured everyone’s insightful and encouraging messages. United Arts of Central Florida is a dynamic collaboration of businesses, governments, foundations, arts and cultural organizations, school districts, artists and individuals. This partnership works to enhance the quality and variety of cultural experiences available throughout Central Florida. The Red Chair Project is a public service designed to increase participation in the Orlando/Central Florida arts and cultural community by building awareness. During the evening we shared various reasons on “Why The Arts Matter,” in addition to raising money for United Arts of Central Florida!
"The highlight for us was meeting the United Arts of Central Florida people. We talked with them early on and donated some money to them and the Red Chair Project. We got on their e-mail list and plan to continue to support them." – Justin I.
Festivities kicked off with a wealth of drinks to quench everyone’s thirst. Winter Park’s very own Grand Touring (GT) Vodka was serving up various smooth concoctions in partner with Honest Tea and vitaminwater. Florida’s only organic brewery, Orlando Brewing, served up some delicious local beer to those who prefered a pint to wet that whistle. Thanks to Cocktails Catering, we were also spoiled with an extensive, delicious martini bar as well as satisfying tummy rumbles with live cooking stations creating fresh bruchetta and ceviche. We all indulged with mini treats from Sweet! By Good Golly Miss Holly (including Yelp inspired velvet love) and Jeremiah's Italian Ice chilled us out with various flavors of their popular, local cold treats. Everyone popped some delicious CakeShooters by Sprinkles and washed it all down with Honest Tea and Vitamin Water.
Yes, we also made sure to fit in a feast for our eyes and ears with live spinning and visually stimulating lighting from Tagas Events featuring sounds from DJ Tagas. We stopped to smell the… aromatic scents of 02 Breathe, an oxygen bar that gave yelpers an uplifted refreshed feeling as well as increased energy and a general overall good feeling. This was much needed after the hotness provided by the talented belly dancer Carrara Nour and her phoenix influenced show. She also helped out various yelpers with their own belly dancing skills giving a small introductory class. The lovely gentleman of See Live Magic were also wandering around entertaining everyone with their jaw dropping magical illusions.
To capture the lovely evening, Elegant Imagery, who eat, sleep, live and breathe photography, weaved their way in and out of the crowd to grab fantastic shots of the party. Jim White was also mingling with the yelpers and encapsulated the evening with pictures of all sorts. Check all the photos out here.
