Marlow's Tavern has arrived to Pointe Orlando and Yelp Elites were among the first to experience everything! We headed out to I-Drive to welcome in the "Best of the Best" in American tavern fare served in a modern atmosphere. Yelp Elites got a chance to preview new noms and crafty cocktails in this relaxing, upscale setting.
Yes, it was a little chilly as the fall weather headed into town as we took over the porch looking over the plaza but with Yelp fingers-less gloves and yelpers galore helped the teperatures rise.
"It was a perfect night to enjoy the cool weather on the patio with some old Yelp friends, and I got the opportunity to make some new ones! I really loved my Yelp sweatband and Flashdance 80's style fingerless gloves too. Excellent compliment for the evening." – Frank L.
The event started at dinner time so yelpers tummies were grumblin' but no worries, we has an extended array of noshes to choose from a sample menu full of fresh flavors. Shrimp & Grits, J.T.'s Kettle Chips, Flatbreads, Marlow's Famous Hummus , Shrimp & Crab "Nacho" Plate and Asparagus Fries with citrus aioli.
"Shrimp and grits so good Bubba might not have let himself get blown up if he had tried it! Amazing! Buffalo chicken flatbread, so tasty I think a buffalo would gladly give it's life to be a part of this dish. Lucky for the buffalo, there is no buffalo on this flatbread." – Mike S.
And from the bar, these "Soon to be Classic" cocktails featured were the house favorite, Pomegranate Martini and The "Gin Job with Hendricks gin, crisp cucumber, basil syrup, fresh lemon & lime juice and a splash of tonic. However, Marlow's didn't stop there, they were gracious and let us sample anything off the menu. A crowd favorite was the holiday feature: Winter Spice Martini, or as it was re-named for the evening by yelpers, "Christmas In My Mouth."
"I felt like a kid in a candy store figuring out what drink to order. I appreciate a cocktail menu and sampled a few of them. My favorite was the Winter Spice Martini; a tasty way to get into the holiday spirit!" – Kelli M.
Mitch Michael provided some awesome tunes as he strummed his guitar and sang us into the evening. Everyone was requesting favorites and singing along, yes, some even pulled out some epic dance moves. A huge thank you goes out to Marlow's Tavern for hosting us and showing the Yelp Elite squad how a "new kid of the block" stakes it's claim in The City Beautiful. Congrats to Deirdre O for scoring the $50 gift card to Marlow's Tavern for a return visit as well as Randy J & Jessica V for winning Yelp goodie baskets!
Our fun, mingling local photog man, Jim White, was on premises catching all the action. Check out all of the awesome photos here or on our YelpOrlando Facebook page!
