Yelp New Orleans’ Almost April LOLz

On Wednesday night, New Orleans' Elites and their lucky +1s donned their wittiest t-shirts and headed to Le Phare, a hip and contemporary lounge tucked away on Gravier Street in the Central Business District. Well over 100 yelpers celebrated April Fool's a few days early at this Almost April LOLz themed party.

New Orleans' finest enjoyed delectable edibles from Ste. Marie, the newest addition to our culinary landscape downtown. Inspired by the legendary champagne houses of France, Ste. Marie offered a taste of their fresh, locally sourced menu, prepared by executive chef Chris Foster. The appetizers and heavenly profiteroles were a huge hit. Lyndsey Y tried a bit of everything, "and about a million of the little cream puff thingies."

According to Suzanne J C, this was "the ideal Elite Event, because it got me to try out a new venue (Le Phare), some new snacks (Ste. Marie's gorgeous apps), and a new beer (Covington Brewery's Kolch). Sounds like a win to me!" Quite a win indeed! We couldn't have put it better ourselves.

Thanks to Heiner Brau (a.k.a. Covington Brewery) our whistles stayed wet as bartenders poured pints of Kolch beer from a keg behind the bar. "Good times were had by all," says Jen L. Truer words have never been spoken. Er. Typed.

Party tunes kept bootys a-shakin' thanks to DJ Zac Kushner and OpenHouse Music, as everyone enjoyed the company of fellow NOLA yelpers. Who, by the way, happen to be "the coolest people in the world. John L H "thoroughly enjoyed meeting new yelpers, non-yelpers, and all of the awesome Elite yelpers." Party attire was casual, and witty t-shirts encouraged, for the Wit T-Shirt Contest that was held at the end of the night. Votes are still being tallied… Stay tuned to find out who wins!
