Yelp London’s Pop-Up Pignic!

Britain's first educational Micro Pig Pop-Up event, also known as "The London Pignic", is kicking off on Saturday the 20th and running until Monday the 22nd of June at The Gun in the Docklands.

The event is free for Yelpers and will offer the lucky few with golden tickets a unique chance to have an ultimate piggy learning experience. This includes a talk from Petpiggies about what makes a good pet pig owner, delicious food, games and a screening of the film Babe. All this whilst guests get to spend time with an adorable litter of piglets as they play together in their temporary home.

With micro pigs gaining recent attention as a pet alternative to a cat or dog, we wanted to take the opportunity to educate our community on what it means to be a responsible micro pig owner in a relaxing and fun environment, all while introducing them to the cool local business who is hosting our event. Although pigs can make friendly and intelligent pets, it’s very important to learn about the responsibilities involved in adopting a piglet and have a full understanding of proper care for these animals before committing to a lifetime together. As the above photo shows, although small and micro now, pigs grow to a much larger size and may outgrow their home environment.

Our hope is that event goers will enjoy seeing the piggies in real life and leave with a better knowledge of the care they require so that fewer pet pigs will end up being abandoned or cruelly treated. The visitors are also encouraged to make a donation to charity, which will be matched by Yelp.
