Why should other businesses in your community claim their business page on Yelp?
I think this answer has 3 main points:
1) Simply that Yelp attracts customers to your business.
2) The people who use Yelp, the ‘Yelpers’ are the kind of people you want at your business.
3) It’s great to open up that two-way conversation between you and your customers, it’s free market research!
From the suite of free tools available in your business account (eg: adding photos, messaging reviewers, adding information about your business), what have you found to be the most successful in attracting customers to your business?
Adding extra info about the business on our listing page was really important for X-Wray. It was the best way for X-Wray to convey all the current services we provide customers with.
When did you start noticing people were finding your business on Yelp?
After we held an Elite Event at X-Wray I noticed a lot more people telling me they had found X-Wray through Yelp.
Any Yelp success stories you’d like to share?
Holding a Yelp Elite Event was a real success for X-Wray. We got lots of great feedback on Yelp and were featured on a range of food bloggers websites as a result of the event. I also found we had a real boom on all the other social media platforms (Facebook & Twitter) after the Elite Event too.
What are some best practices you can share with fellow business owners when it comes to receiving a critical review about your business?
I advise writing back to reviews, positive or negative and suggesting they pay your business another visit.
