On Tuesday, January 7th, Fort Worth Elites gathered at the exceptional Rahr & Sons Brewing Company for an after-the-holidays Elite event to remember. The brewery, which offers a "Tour and Tasting" every Wednesday and Saturday, was the perfect venue for an evening of belated festivities. Heather S writes that "the brewery is just as cool as all the staff… a warehouse with barrels of liquid gold and mountains of bottles. The staff was very attentive and kept our glasses full the entire night!"
In addition to sampling the fantastic Rahr's Blonde, Texas Red, Ugly Pug, and Stormcloud, Yelp Elites enjoyed an assortment of pies from Mama's Pizza, which Natalie R thinks is "fan-freakin-tastic! I went for the classic cheese pizza and found myself sneaking back over for more as the night went on." Yelpers also snacked on beautiful cuisine from Chadra Mezza and Grill. Corina T "loved the flavors of the tabbouleh and the baba ghanoush," and Natalie R claims "they do hummus right!" Don't worry about indulging; Tae S promises that "you feel healthy eating all their food, so you're supposed to get seconds!"
Food and beer is entertainment enough, but we made the night extra special with an ugly Christmas sweater costume. Footie pajamas, tinsel, garlands, Christmas lights, and red+green galore – Fort Worth Elites know how to rock a ridiculous ensemble with pride! Jessica N says "so many people were dressed up in unique and creative sweaters! I was super impressed by the post-holiday festivity. Hats off to all the Yelpers who participated and thanks to the bartenders for judging us!" Heather S won the grand prize with her brilliant homage to the Christmas Tree.
Fort Worth Elites also participated in a gag-gift-exchange, and Sarath P "was excited about" her "unicorn stationary set" while "Chris P was equally excited about the MRE (chicken pot pie & mashed potatoes!) he received…. or was he?!" And we didn't just give to each other – we pulled together to collect an impressive assortment of donations for the Presbyterian Night Shelter of Tarrant County.
Thank you to Rahr & Sons for hosting the Yelp Elite at their amazing brewery and for giving each Yelper a souvenir glass to take home with them. Jessica N is "still admiring" hers. A big thanks to Chadra Mezza and Grill and Mama's Pizza for the generous grub. Our Holiday Hangover event let us celebrate the festive season for just a little longer, which is always a good thing. Be sure to check out the event reviews and spectacular photos!
