Jelly Modern Donuts is no ordinary donut shop with creative treats known to local sweet lovers like the infamous maple bacon donut. And now its no stranger to the Yelp Calgary Elite Squad either! On Wednesday eve, Elites in Calgary were treated to a first-hand VIP experience of vanilla frosting proportions!

different reasons to increase our sugar high with a candy buffet from
Gummi Boutique!
"And then there were like blue whales and there was a lady there making cocktails, and oh! oh! There was a blow torch and like LOTS of stickers… Am I describing an awesome dream as a result of too much pizza before bed, or am I describing the coolest elite party ever!" exclaims Meghan H.
Let's not forget the donut dipping stations. Elites had the choice of creating 2 their very own versions of either the maple bacon, smore, classic jelly or madagascar vanilla donut. Donut holes were punched, donuts were dipped, toppings were sprinkled and marshmallows were blowtorched – yes, blowtorched! In the end, each person had a goodie box to take home with them. Let's be real though, if the donuts made it past the front door, they most certainly didn't last the ride home!
Jennifer L: "I chose maple bacon and carrot donut dip
and toppings…I seriously piled that stuff on. Glaze? Sure! Maple
syrup? Mmmhm! Bacon? Double dose please! It was fantastic. Same with
the carrot donut. I squirt the cream cheese around the donut as well
as, filled the donut hole then piled the carrot chips on top."
Between each dip, guests sipped on the feature cocktail, the Oriental Ale, from Distiller's Pride. Care to make it at home? Try the recipe!
2 oz Magic Moments Lemongrass and Ginger Remix
1/2 ox simple syrup
1/2 oz Lime Juice
ginger ale
garnish of choice
Pour vodka, simple syrup and lime juice over ice. Top with ginger ale. Garnish with slivers of lemongrass or a lime wedge.
And we can't forget the inner workings of the candy bar. Goodies from Gummi Boutique included Peach Penguins, Blue Whales, Sour Spring Flowers, Gumby and Pokey, Dum Dum Pops, Dracula Teeth and a few other goodies!
