Our Yelp Get's Funke Elite Event was one for the record books! There was funky themed food, booze, popsicles,
and plenty of FUNKE FUN! What more could you ask for?
Over sixty Yelpers came out to celebrate this amazing local business! On the agenda for the night: Pottery painting, wheel throwing, raku firing, and even a handbuilding competition. Yelpers put on their party pants and took a dive into the fun hands first!
Listermann Brewing Co & Triple Digit Brewing provided some of their delicious Serpentine Wheat Beer and there were plenty of funky themed cocktails to choose from: Glazed Donut, Chocolate and even Buttered Popcorn!
Of course, it wouldn't be a funky event without throwing in some super funky cheeses from Krause's at Findlay Market! The crowd favorite was definitley the green Basil Gouda cheese.
Stephanie a representative from KIND snacks was there to introduce their yummy teats to the Yelpers. Stephen B shares, "Almost every
aspect of this event introduced me to something new! I really liked KIND—They had some pretty exotic flavors that were really great!"
What can be better than BLT, taco, and veggie pizzas? Lauren M just couldn't get enough—"Krimmer's Italianette, which I had always wanted to try, was a great" addition to the event. Whoever's idea jalapeno pizza was, you rock!"

Sara the owner of Streetpops was kind enough to bring along some of her deliciously funky pops to share with the Yelpers. Lia V was impressed—"This event was amazing!" The best part? "I was introduced to streetpops – heaven in my mouth. Can't wait to go back!"
Yelpers got to paint their own pendants and were shown tons of cool techniques to create some serious one of a kind peices! Jackie S shares, "I really felt like I was discovering something; be it the awesomely huge
studio, or my inner child. It pretty much blew my mind how
accommodating Funke's was! I
can totally see myself taking a class or planning a party there."
Angela C gushes, "I think I say this about most of the Elite events but I'm pretty sure
this event was REALLY my favorite. So much fun! I drive by Funke all the
time and had no idea that it was there. The staff was so friendly and wonderful. I think I found a new hobby—love throwing on the wheel!
Danae B asks, "How does one describe when they fall in love? No idea, but I am absolutely smitten with Funke Fired Arts! The wheel throwing was by far my
favorite. I have already investigated classes that I will be taking this
summer to continue learning how to be a potter!
"Wow! This event knocked my socks off! Three cheers to Cindy and Yelp for introducing me to a business I would not have known about
otherwise. Amy D admits her favorite was "seeing the amazing display from the Raku Kiln!"
"The staff was patient and enthusiastic, which was great for a newbie like me" Kara C shares. "I felt like there was always something going on the entire
event, from painting to pottery, and I never wanted it to end! The
handbuilding clay tower competition was the best part for me, but that
may have been because I was on the winning team. Don't hate!"
I think Steve A said it best— "I've been coming to Yelp events since 2010 and must say this is
definitely up there as one of the best! The folks at Funke were
fantastic! From the
tour, free pendant designing, Raku firing and wheel throwing" it was incredible. "Toss in the funky flavors of vodka, Streetpops, Kind snacks, and pizza,
and it makes you realize how awesome it is to be a Yelp Elite! Hats off to Cindy for such a great job on this one!"
