Old school Yelp Elites in Montreal remember a legendary Yelp Elite Event at Restaurant Gus way back in the day. Well now Chef David Ferguson and his partner, and longtime Gus sou-chef, Ciaren Tierney and their 5 star team have a new spot right next door, and they were excited to welcome the local elites back for more.
Restaurant Lou relaunched as a Gus Cantine with a casual, cosy, comfort food vibe that balances tartares and chicken wings with vegan salads, chilli and veggie nachos so everyone can feel welcomed and well fed. Yelp Elites were invited to sample the menu, learn some cooking tips from the chef, and sip on some exceptional wine and cocktails.
“To date, this was probably the best event of the year as we had the opportunity to all gather closely around the open kitchen counter, get up close and personal with the chefs, who were completely in their element, learned loads about the industry, some history, southwestern cuisine, cooking techniques and got answers to all of our questions, mingling and catching up while both Chefs prepared us a fabulous feast.” Charles N.
This event was also a great way to contribute to building health, belonging, and social justice in low-income communities through the power of food, since this event was officially part of the Big Social!
The Big Social is a national campaign where folks host a dinner and raise money for the NDG Food Depot and other world-changing Community Food Centres across Canada.
