School's back in session! Yelp DC celebrated with an evening of make-you-a-kid again fun with an evening full of sips, snacks, sweets, snaps and retro games at the Board Room.
Yelpers dined on a smorgasboard of throwback bites that included a Nacho Bar by local and family-owned tortillaria, Nana's Cocina and gourmet cupcake bites from Savvy Treats. Elites were also invited to decorate their own lunch bags and fill them with favorite childhood treats like Fruit-by-the-Fruit, pudding packs, and Pop Tarts. "The nachos were rather tasty and the cupcakes were simply AMAZING!
Oh… and the Fruit-By-The-Foot was a very nice touch! Can you say
sugar rush?" attests Terinee B.
Guests' compettive spirits were brought out by games like PacMan, Battle Ship, Jenga, and Apples to Apples."Board games are the great ice breaker in the world!" confesses Michael G. "What better way is
there to meet new friends than to argue about mundane rules and scream
when you beat them?"
Refreshments courtesy of Dos Equis flowed freely and the signature cocktails made with Tang, Nesquick, and Hawaiian Punch were the perfect elixir for this fun-filled night. "The drinks were creative and delicious. They served up elementary realness with
the adult twist," professes Ryan B.
Photo-matica was also on hand to snap photos in their picture day attire. "We had a pretty intense game of 5 Second Rule going, followed by How Many People Can We Squeeze into a Photo Booth," shares Kimmy L.
At the end of the night we donated one storage container and three bags of multi grain pasta and brown rice, as well as $200 in cash donations to our charity partner DC Central Kitchen. Check out all the reviews here, along with the photos from the event, care of the one-and-only and ever-talented David Dang.
