Yelp Dallas 2017 Bucket List Challenge

How well do you know your city? Beginning April 1st through June 25th, we’re challenging you to tackle our official Yelp Dallas Bucket List filled with festival adventures, food challenges, cultural experiences, and cocktail tastings that have made a lasting impression in our beloved Big D.

Use this list of brag-worthy businesses to impress visiting friends or as your own personal map to the best and most unique businesses and landmarks in the city…and win some incredible prizes in the process!

BIG TEXAS BEER FEST: Last year the festival hosted over 140 breweries and more than 500 beers – and since everything is bigger in Texas, imagine what this year will bring! The festival is TODAY (Sat. 4/1 from  2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.  | tickets: $39+ tax). Find a new go-to brew and share it with us!

KALACHANDJI’S: This Indian restaurant goes beyond lunch and dinner service by letting you become the chef. Sign up for one of their weekly cooking classes (or a full 8 week session) and elevate your culinary skills, then indulge in your creation!

THE RUSTIC: Bring the gang to their family style Jam and Toast weekend brunch while catching some live music. Throughout the Bucket List Challenge you can score 1/2 off appetizers from 4 pm to 6 pm, M-F with your first Yelp check-in.

KLYDE WARREN PARK: Follow the food trucks to Klyde Warren and enjoy a weekday lunch or get your zen on and join a free Saturday yoga class.

TIMES TEN CELLARS: This Lakewood spot lets you order in local takeout to enjoy as you sip on their wine selection. Don’t forget to take a bottle home to-go! GRANADA THEATER: Catch a live show or swing by one of their annual parties like the 80’s Prom happening Saturday, April 15, 2017. Grab a bite next door beforehand at Sundown at Granada where you can redeem a buy-one-get-one offer towards ANYTHING of equal or lesser value by checking in on Yelp during the bucket list challenge!

MUTTS: Take your dog on a dinner date and order off the human AND pooch-friendly menu. First check-in at Mutts? Get a free doggie dessert or doggie dog for your pup with the purchase of a burger or griddle dog during the bucket list challenge!

MARGARITA MELTDOWN: Mix, mingle and get shaken up at the 7th annual Dallas Margarita Meltdown on Sunday, May 28, 2017. You get to be the judge – don’t forget to submit your vote for the best marg in Dallas!

EL FENIX: Get over the midweek hump by swinging in for their famous Wednesday enchilada night special and enjoy a meal at the oldest chain of Mexican restaurants in the U.S. – and it all started right here in Dallas 99 years ago.

MARGARET HUNT HILL BRIDGE: Take a selfie with the beautiful bridge architecture or city skyline in the background. Pro-tip: You can conquer this and the Trinity Groves challenge (#27) all in one day!

MESO MAYA: Take an authentic Mexican culinary adventure where getting in your veggies and greens has never been easier…avocado margarita, anyone?

MCKINNEY AVENUE M-LINE TROLLEY: Whether running errands or bar-hopping, catch a FREE ride through Uptown on the  M-Line Trolley.

PARLIAMENT: Take a selfie with neighborhood favorite, Lucky (the owner), or celebrate your birthday year-round with their cupcake martini that comes topped with sprinkles!

REUNION TOWER: Have a snack (and pair it with an adult beverage) at the Cloud Nine Cafe where the cafe floor revolves as you tower over the gorgeous Dallas skyline.

DEALEY PLAZA: Check out the 6th floor museum and get an up-close history lesson on one of the Nation’s most historic events.  

VELVET TACO: Take a picture and show us your taco line up (don’t forget to order up some elotes on the side!) #SquadGoals

PECAN LODGE: Tackle the infamous line of ravenous barbeque lovers and show us your BBQ selfie (before you bust out the Wet-Naps).

ANVIL PUB: Swing by this Deep Ellum dive for their “F Brunch” lineup and give your hangover the finger with one of the massive screwdivers, mimosas or Bloody Marys.

STATE FAIR OF TEXAS: Snap a selfie with the big wheel or Big Tex (September 29-October 22).

FAT JESSIE’S: Take down the Fat Jessie’s food challenge which is sure to put you in a food coma: 1.5lbs of cheesesteak, 6 cheeseburgers, 1 bowl of beanless chili, 8 bacon wrapped cheese stuffed jalapeños, 5 fried eggs, 1.5lbs gyro meat, 6oz of mozzarella cheese, marinara sauce on a 21” fresh hero…plus a basket of fries!

TRINITY GROVES:  Enjoy the cultural inspo and variety of restaurant themes at Trinity Groves by appetizer hopping your way through each spot (BONUS: Capture Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge AND the Dallas skyline in the background!)

WILD BILL’S WESTERN STORE: Earn some Texas swagger at this authentic Dallas western store.

MARIANOS: Drink in a bit of history by enjoying a frozen marg at the very restaurant credited with creating the frozen margarita machine.

JIMMY’S FOOD STORE: Wine and dine on some sammys in a secret back wine room. Pro-tip: Purchase a bottle (we won’t judge) and ask the cashier for a couple of glass.

KELLER’S DRIVE IN: Navigate back in time and enjoy an authentic drive-in meal complete with a classic burger and fries.

DALLAS FARMERS MARKET: Bargain your way through the Dallas’ oldest (and newly remodeled) farmer’s market and pick up fresh produce for dinner #SupportLocal

HG SPLY CO.: Catch a sunset on this famed Dallas rooftop with the beautiful Dallas skyline as your backdrop.

DEEP ELLUM BREWING: Blondes have more fun…or so they say at Deep Ellum Brew Co. Sample their Dallas Blonde and enjoy one of the first breweries to open in the Big D. Bonus: Invite your pup to play in their newly renovated patio.

BULLZERK: Pick up one of Bullzerk’s famed tees, candles or coasters and publicly display your love for North Texas in a humorous way.

ROSEWOOD MANSION ON TURTLE CREEK: Sip on a midweek happy hour cocktail or enjoy the live music Thurs-Sat at The Mansion Bar.

OFF SITE KITCHEN: Set your sights on Off Site Kitchen’s frozen Moscow mules, frozen bourbon colas, or take down one of their famed burgers (if you’re really hungry go for the double deluxe!)

DALLAS ARBORETUM & BOTANICAL GARDEN: Catch one of the “Cool Thursdays Concert Series” shows running  now through October or enjoy a waterfront picnic overlooking White Rock Lake on the concert lawn.

DALLAS MUSUEM OF ART: Become an art critic at one of the Dallas Museum of Art’s Late Nights every third Friday of the month. Open until midnight for visitors of all ages with performances, concerts, readings, film screenings, tours, family programs, and more.

SNO Shaved Ice: Having a sour day? Ask for the “Mag Dawg” from the secret menu (a pink lemonade concoction mixed with margarita and a “sour blast” of fresh lime. If you’re feeling a little spicy, go for the chamoyada!

AMERICAN AIRLINES CENTER: Indulge in a hotdog and beer while watching your beloved Mavericks and Stars score a win.

PEROT MUSEUM: Discover where learning and fun collide at the Perot Museum’s first Thursday Late Nights – a unique adults-only event filled with innovative experiments and signature cocktails. #YASSS

KING SPA & SAUNA | SPA CASTLE: Treat yourself to a Korean-style spa day and sweat out your stress in the sauna at these two Dallas spa staples.

GALLERIA DALLAS: Grab a friend and go ice skating at the Galleria Ice Skating Center (pro tip: visit during the holidays and check out their massive Christmas tree!).

ZYN22: Spin to win in one of their unique “playlist battle” classes happening monthly (battle of the boybands while you spin? Yes please!).

DALLAS ZOO: Go wild and visit your favorite Zoo animal!

LONE STAR PARK AT GRAND PRAIRIE: Put on your derby best and make a few extra bucks at the horse races now through the end of July.

COWBOYS RED RIVER: Swing in for some free dance lessons during the week or take your cowboy/cowgirl boots for a spin during their HonkeyTonk weekend parties. Don’t forget to conquer the mechanical bull.
