Yelp Cleveland’s Badge Day Celebration at Pizzeria Angie’s

This January, Yelp Elites adventured to North Royalton to Pizzeria Angie’s to celebrate their 2020 YES badges! Angie’s Pizza has been a Cleveland original since the 1950’s and the current owners have been customers since they were young adults. They even had their first date in the corner booth! In March of 2019, they purchased the pizzeria and rebranded it as Pizzeria Angie’s. They fell in love with the house-made dough and signature sauce, so they made sure to keep the same recipes, tastes, and hospitality but upgraded it with a modern twist. The evening kicked off with hearing the philosophy of the pizzeria from new owners Rick and Diane. Course one began with delicious homemade breadsticks served with marinara sauce. After devouring a few breadsticks, Yelp Elites enjoyed the cheese salad, italian salad, and oven baked wings, all of which were absolutely incredible.Next, course two included five different types of pizzas! This included the traditional simply cheese and the italian sausage pizzas, and the speciality perfect pepperoni, bbq chicken, and the New York white pizzas. Each type of pizza also had an alternative version with a cauliflower crust for those with dietary restrictions! The dough on each slice was just the right thickness with gooey cheese on top, making it the perfect slice of pizza. As Yelp Elite Steven B. said, “The crust was excellent, cooked crisp outside with a soft center, the sauce was slightly sweet without a lot of spices, the cheese nicely cooked with just enough elasticity.” To wrap up an amazing meal, Pizzeria Angie’s indulged course four with the house-made “sin”namon sticks! Made with warm house-made dough and topped with a vanilla glaze, it was the most delicious way to wrap up a good old fashioned pizza party.
