The secret word of the week was, “Beer!”
Yes, it was Cincinnati’s first ever Beer Week and Yelp Cincy played a major role. From promotions to entertainment to eating and, of course, drinking, it seemed like we were everywhere. Yelp had three giant beer-related events: a beer making-event, a beer-tasting event and a beer dinner event.
Beer Making at Table Top Brewery

Ever wonder where your beer comes from or how it gets to be so darn delicious? About 30 yelpers were treated to a class in the preparation and creation of a good beer at Table Top Brewing.
In addition to multiple lessons and delicious wings from Wild Mike's, Yelpers helped brew and bottle their own growler and everyone got to take it home for drinking!

“The staff was very nice despite a packed room and a lot going on, and we were able to sample some of their beer (delicious!!) as well as take our own beer home to finish brewing ourselves. The store carries a lot of different kits and apparently they'll even help you customize one to your liking!” Becky R said.

Beer Tasting Event at Rock Bottom Brewery

What is better than a beer tasting? When the beer tasting includes full 20oz beers!
Eight yelpers made their way to a private area of Rock Bottom Brewery, right off Cincy's famous Fountain Square, for a night of nibbles and liquid nourishment at our Beer Tasting Event! Yelpers got to try full glasses of any of Rock Bottom’s beers as well as an amazing sampling of their pub food, from gourmet pizzas to chipotle wings and even giant bowls of salad.

“What a generous way to kick off beer week – full pints of beer and lots of great food, which I wasn't expecting at all. I also wasn't expecting to get a Yelp pint glass – great swag!” Andi B exclaimed.
There was something for everyone. Stacey L may have put it best: “Gosh, I love Beer Week already. And I don't even drink beer.”

Yelp’s Beer Dinner with Mt. Carmel at AmerAsia

For our last major event, we pulled out all the stops: four courses, three beer pairings and tons of fun.
AmerAsia, a true hidden gem of Greater Cincinnati, boasts it’s menu of “kung food” and will amaze anyone who think they’ve had Chinese cusine before. They’re also known for their incredible craft beer list, making them the perfect spot for a beer dinner.
“If you've ever desired to eat Chinese food in 1990s New York City, you must come to AmerAsia. Located in the heart of Covington, itserves up quality food for all your favorite traditional Chinese dishes. There is also a tremendous bar with endless beer options. With walls lined with graffiti-style murals and eccentric paper lamps, the Amerasia experience is equal parts atmosphere and cuisine," Paige M declares. And we believe her.
Mt. Carmel rep Patrick took us through each course and each beer pairing from this local Cincinnati brewery, including Squirrel Bite, a limited edition brew.
